I actually have met him in a social enviroment , in a pub with the other coaches, Wasnt impressed at all, thought he was a dope was my first impression. smoke hanging out of his gob, pot in the other,  I thought at the time, gee we really need this as an assistant.
He didnt inspire me at all,.
I call it as I see it.
You can see why the likes of Sheedy , Parkin and Matthews were successful, they inspire players to walk tall.

So I can make a call on a person if I have met them in a "social environment" 

So therefore, I can say I've met Sheedy in a "social environment" (which I have) and I wasn't impressed thought he was away with the pixies to be honest ... I call it as I see it... on that occassion he didn't inspire me at all

Maybe, but it goes back many years. Time to rebuild (players and coaches) and not half rebuild by toping up with players good or bad from other clubs.

Made a complete "'goose "" of himself when he ranted on about him loving the players and club etc.
Better to keep your mouth shut one would think.

Furthermore, OUR FOOTBALL CLUB HAS BEEN A FAILURE. Gettting rid of non performers or people who AINT up to it is a step forward.

I'm disappointed he has left. I was hoping he could work with Hardwick, continue in his Coburg role and focus on development.

If though, he would have made Hardwicks role more difficult or compromised the coach in any way then I can understand the move.

Just curious as to why would people would think if he stayed he should have gone back to coaching Coburg?

I think he was making a fair fist of coaching at Coburg with the younger team especially.  There was some obvious rapport and respect and in this developmental aspect I think he was ok.  Only time will tell if he has what it takes to make it as a successful coach but I would have been more than happy for him to move back to Coburg in the role he had - with a new game plan to work with he would have been worth keeping imho.

I actually stick up for people that I  have worked with and respect and learnt from. I dont let personal views get in the way of performance.

He fixed a few careers up in his short time

primarily i see a spoilt,petulant group of athletes who have been able to fire their coach at random or at best,hide behind excuses rather than accept their position as senior,professional athletes playing for a struggling team.

Part of the culture problem imo....

The ability if the coach until now has been secondary overall, in assessing the teams true desire or lackof to represent the rfc.

Ben Cousins has done a lot to change things for the better - ironic aint it !
