Dermie would have said that Voss was a waddler as a young bloke. Clearly Martin doesn't the pace of say Judd, but he can find the footy, can use it and doesn't take a backward step.

He does say that Martin will have to be a good inside player, and he already is very good.

I am not too worried about what Dermie thinks. We're all still waiting on Aaron James to be as good as Wayne Carey.  :wallywink

I'm still waiting for proof that Dermie thinks.  :-\

Was Wayne "Duck" Carey a wadler? :P

Martin contract talks begin
richmondfc.com.au
By Nat Edwards 1:34 PM Fri 28 May, 2010

RICHMOND coach Damien Hardwick has confirmed the Tigers are in contract negotiations with rising star Dustin Martin.

The talks come in the wake of speculation earlier this week that Martin had been offered a lucrative three-year deal by Greater Western Sydney to join the club in 2012.

GWS coach Kevin Sheedy recently fuelled speculation when he wrote a column in a Melbourne newspaper revealing the club’s plans to target Richmond’s promising youngsters, including Martin, who’s contracted with the Tigers until the end of 2011.

Hardwick says he is confident that the club’s first-round draft pick from 2009 will stay at Richmond.

“We’re very confident that he’ll stay and be a very good player for our footy club,” Hardwick said on Friday morning.

“Dustin’s not going anywhere we don’t think. He’s very happy here, and we’re in negotiations at the moment.”

DIMMA - You will be held ACCOUNTABLE...

“We are really excited about what we have brought in. We have got great depth of players that can take us where we need to go. We are just putting some cream on the top at the moment,” he said.

is this a case of us reacting to the media setting the agenda on this?surely the club should have done its homework on this issue.

why is that good?
It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”
