Tom Browne on MMM:

“My understanding is that Dusty’s having a break and considering all this”, Browne said on Tom Browne’s News.

“Dusty, my understanding is, will lend some consideration to whether he stays at Richmond and becomes a 300 game Richmond legend — which he already is — or diversifies if you like, goes to the Gold Coast for a bit of a fresh start… that might integrate a bit better with what he wants to do, lifestyle wise.”

"In my understanding" or "I guess" or "I make up"
These guys get 1 in 20 of these correct, at best.

Thought "It's my understanding..." was Caro's catchphrase.... :shh

According to Cal Twomey on SEN:

Dustin Martin (Richmond)

“I think the Dustin Martin situation becomes a lot more real next year.

“I just don’t think there’s any reason for him to go up to the Gold Coast despite potentially being a bit unsettled at the moment with a new coach coming in, his old mates leaving the club, there’s an element of that.

“I don’t see any reason for him to want to go and smooth out his money next year.”

7NEWS AFL reporter Mitch Cleary said the Martin talk “would not go away”, despite the Brownlow medallist being on good money with a year to go on his Richmond contract.

Cleary said he still thought Martin would stay at the Tigers but asked Cotchin if there was “any world” where we could see Dusty playing under Hardwick?

“(Martin is) up on the Gold Coast at the moment having a little holiday. I don’t think there’s anything more to it than that,” Cotchin said on Talking Finals.

“It’d be great to see him as a 300-plus game player for the Tigers in the yellow and black. Is it some pre-retirement fun to go up there (to the Gold Coast) and enjoy the sunshine at the very end of his career? I’m not sure (but) I know that one of his values is loyalty.”

Dusty heads to Gold Coast ... but it is holiday season

Dustin Martin is on the Gold Coast, but there’s no reason to be concerned if you’re a Richmond supporter. Well, not yet, anyway.

He’s there on a holiday.

Upon being contacted by this column, two Gold Coast Suns sources confirmed that they were aware that Martin was on the Gold Coast but wouldn’t comment whether anyone from the club was planning to catch up with him.

Richmond have always maintained that Martin will see out his contract at Punt Road, with chief executive Brendon Gale stating as recently as a fortnight ago that he was confident the three-time Norm Smith medallist would be playing his 300th game in yellow and black next year.

Martin does have his fair share of friends up on the coast. Premiership teammate and close friend Brandon Ellis plays for the Suns, list manager Craig Cameron is the man who drafted Martin to Richmond in 2009 and football boss Wayne Campbell is a friend and confidant.

Oh and Suns coach Damien Hardwick knows him, too.

Martin defiantly strongly considering GC. Issue will be $. He’ll have to take a haircut or agree to spread next year $ over next 3 years.  We’ll get future 1st for Dusty and future 3rd.

Ok why is Dusty in QLD?
He is visiting someone very close who is comforting, this is the same person he used to visit regularly in Sydney who has made the move north.
Aside from that which QLD club can fit him in their cap??

Broady is 90% certain Dusty will stay and play his 300th game after seeing Cotch and Jack reach it. He doesn't talk to Dusty about contracts.

Why is Dusty catching up with Dimma

I thought Dusty didn't love him anymore

Sure I read something along those lines somewhere

Dusty will stay, play his 300th.

GC will improve next year and the jungle drums will beat for Dusty to be the cream for them to get to finals.
Go Tigers!
