He's cooked, his skills have dropped to sub VFL level level. Used to hit targets and goals with is eyes closed.. no longer, more often misses targets than hits them. F his 300, doesn't deserve a game ATM. Reminded me of Dangerfield today, got plenty of ball but snuffed most kicks

This rambling is unhinged. If there is any other intention other than to be funny or to pee people off, please seek help.

Dustin Martin is not only an icon of our club and sport but one of the biggest reasons our dreams came true in 2017. He has a golden ticket for life. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool.

Let's also not let emotion get in the way of facts. 9 games ago he was absolutely robbed of an All Australia jacket. The man is also 32 years of age playing a role for 300 games of contested ball, don't argues and gut running. He is allowed to come down from his peak and enjoy his twilight. Don't get caught up in the media rubbish who finally after 300 games can take a whack at Dusty who has been untouchable on field for nearly 10 years. They hate him not speaking with them so he is enemy number 1 when it suits. After a couple of quiet games is actually laughable by all involved.

We will not turn on Dusty. The greatest club in the comp, our club will back the greatest of the modern era all the way to the end.

You have none of those things.

You live in a one bedroom apartment and most likely spend your days posting on here and drinking out of goon bags, watching the Bold & The Beautiful while only wearing underwear which probably has holes in them.

I'm embarrassed at how much I laughed at this post.

Dustin Martin not talking to Richmond coach Adem Yze about future just yet

Speculation is intensifying over whether Dustin Martin will stay or go at Richmond and his coach has revealed when those talks will happen.

Talks about Dustin Martin’s future have been shelved for a later date, but Richmond coach Adem Yze insists his veteran superstar is walking around the club “with a smile on his face” as speculation intensifies and his seven-year contract nears its end.

Martin, 32, a triple premiership winner, and three-time Norm Smith medallist, is battling a form slump that mirrors his team’s fortunes, with the Tigers winning just one of Yze’s opening nine games in charge.

Exits from the premiership era started with a trickle but have turned in to a flood, with chief executive Brendon Gale jumping ship to helm the new Tasmanian team in the wake of retirements of former teammates Trent Cotchin and Jack Riewoldt and best and fairest Liam Baker being linked with a move back to Western Australia.

Martin’s great mate and former captain Cotchin this week questioned whether the Brownlow medallist had the “energy” to get up every week for a team destined to finish at the bottom of the ladder.

“He’s definitely capable of it – I just don’t know if, (given) the place he is in right now, whether he’s got the energy to do so,” Cotchin said on Talking Footy.

“It’s hard to comment too far on what he’s going through, but since his old man passed away, it’s been a challenge for Dusty.”

Gale, who will see out the 2024 season, said he still harboured hopes that Martin, who is on the verge of playing 300 games in yellow and black, would re-sign with the club and finish his career at Punt Road.

“Our preference will be that he stays at this football club and becomes a Tiger for life,” Gale said this week.

“He’s an icon of our club and the game.”

Amid ongoing links to his former coach Damien Hardwick, now helming the Gold Coast Suns, Martin was still “buying in” at the club, Yze said.

But he conceded talks about Martin’s future were out of his hands for now.

“Those discussions will happen later in the year,” Yze said on Thursday.

“We just want him training well and enjoying his footy, and that stuff will get finalised later in the year.

“Right now, he’s walking around with a smile on his face, he’s helping our younger players that I’ve spoken about the last few weeks and he’s really buying into our program.”

Martin has played 296 games for the Tigers, and seven of nine so far in 2024 after battling a calf issue earlier in the season.

‘Wouldn’t have a bruise on his body’: Dusty savaged for ‘soft footy’

Fox Footy with NCA Newswire
May 21st, 2024

An AFL analyst has savaged Dustin Martin’s form, declaring the Richmond champion is playing “soft footy” and “wouldn’t have had a bruise on his body on Saturday night”.

The Tigers have lost their last two games by a combined 210 points, capitulating against the Western Bulldogs and Brisbane, with Martin having nowhere near the impact the footy world is used to seeing.

While it’s worth noting he is very near the end of his career, Martin’s lack of impact - and the poor play of his veteran teammates - was criticised by former All-Australian Mick McGuane on Monday.

“Don’t gift them games if they don’t want to provide effort or consistency. And let’s go to the stars,” he said on RSN 927’s Racing Pulse.

“Dusty’s playing soft footy. Now we’ve all loved Dusty for what he’s brought to the game - there’s an argument in the last 20 years he’s in the best 3 players, if not the best player, that we’ve seen ... what he’s done on the main day, no-one’s ever done it before.

“But right now, the Dusty Martin of ‘17, how he won Norm Smiths ... compared to what we’re witnessing now, Dusty wouldn’t have had a bruise on his body on Saturday night.”

We can barely field a team, Dusty is doing what he has to do, our season is shot, what is there to do??
Pride?
So Dusty goes in hard and will get weeks for some stupid afl rule, it’s hard enough to watch AFL let alone play the stupid over ruled game.

Okay so that’s the go now. Mmmmmmmm

Richmond are planning on having Dusty’s 300th against Hawthorn at home as they have been planning it for a while. Memorabilia etc will be tsunami like.

Martin will not give an interview or hold a press conference. The only thing he has agreed to do is to have a photo with the other living 300 game players. There is a doco coming but Martin won’t be in it. Hardwick will. Cue the he owes us nothing crowd. But for me… I want a little more please Dusty.

Not good for his legacy?

Come on mate. That is ridiculous. Worse than when the coach used that stupid word on this bloke.

Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

Not saying it’s ruining his legacy, but IMO it is tarnishing it somewhat seeing him jog around disinterested while we are getting smashed.

No concerns about him playing out the year but I personally want him to retire before it gets any worse :(
