"Gale was also successful in switching the Tigers' only Friday night game - against St Kilda - from Etihad Stadium to the MCG."

Seems like that's the case.  Oh, wait.  >:(

The draw in itself from a team point of view isn't that bad. Play on 3 of last year's top 8 sides twice and only once against the top 4. If we were good enough as a coach you wouldn't be complaining. However for us where we are at it's a tough first two months. We could be 1-7 after the first 8 rounds  :-\.

12 Sunday games is not got for supporters and Club financially. Crowd figures will take a hit.

So much for us being promised our home game against the Saints on the Friday night would be at the 'G  ::)

We also get sent down to the Cattery again where out supporters can't get in ::)

Carlton, Melb, Freo? True it's possible but we'll be definitely the underdogs with the bookies in each of the first 8 rounds.

LOL @ Collingwood crying on the AFL site they have a tough draw  :stupid

2010 Fixture - Club reaction (afl)

2010 fixture: what they said

Richmond
"Although we would have preferred more home games at the MCG, we accept the eight MCG/three Etihad home game split, and acknowledge the AFL has a complex job in deciding the fixture and balancing the wishes of clubs, broadcasters and venues.

"From a commercial perspective the draw will be challenging, and now more than ever we will be calling on our loyal members and fans to continue to support the club in record numbers.

"Once again we will be playing Carlton at home at the MCG, and we expect a large crowd to kick off the 2010 season on Thursday, March 25." - chief executive Brendon Gale

Yep we got screwed from a financial view - 7 Sunday home games which won't please supporters, just 9 FTA games which won't please sponsors, and no home games against Ess or Coll.

22   PORT ADELAIDE      Aug 27-29  Etihad Stadium     Home  ........TBC
What a way to send the great man off btw :P. Thanks AFL  ::)

overall, i am not happy. we have been poor (obviously over the years) and i believe this is a tough Fixture.

why do we play Geelong at their bullsh*t ground again? that is three times in four years!

what happened to moving the St Kilda "Home" match to the MCG?

play three Away matches in a row?

8 matches on Free-TV?

to many Sunday matches! 1:10pm matches?

only good thing is that we stop travelling after Round 13, but our season could be over by then!

oh well, just need to win matches!

 :)

it looks like the West Coast match was switched!

wouldn't you switch the St Kilda match to the MCG?

and leave the West Coast match at Etihad?

If we harbour thoughts of playing finals then we probably want to be well inside the 8 at Round 17.   :help

I'm happy, I couldnt care less about Free to Air or Sunday games.

Financially sure it'll hurt but we don't deserve any favours after our performance in 09. Regardless we'll all see all 22 games regardless where they are, when they are or who airs the the games.

Only thing you want out of a draw is a good run home, not travelling to Subiaco twice, and playing the top 4 sides as least as possible.

We won out in all those areas. We travel to Subiaco and have to play Geelong. Thats probably a win for us as I'd rather sacrifice a loss to Geelong after a Subi trip then a loss to a North or Port after a travel to the west.

We have a great run home from Round 14.
Sydney at MCG
Fremantle at ES
North at MCG
Collingwood at MCG
Adelaide at MCG
Melbourne at MCG
Carlton at MCG
Saints at ES
Port at ES

Realistically coudl/should win at minimum 4 of those games (Fre, North, Melb, Port) and good chances against Syd, Carl. With maybe pinching a win against 1 of Adelaide, Coll or Saints. could finish 7 wins from the last 9.

It we are somewhere around 50% win loss ratio at Round 11 we are in a perfect posistion to set up for a finals birth.
Go Tigers!
