Look at him when he kicks, he actually looks at the ball hitting his boot and not his target..

WTF?  What coaching manual did you get that from?

are you saying that's a good or bad thing?

Bad, he did it so much he actually kicked the bloody turf!
wow!

he stuffed his kick up because he watched the ball onto his boot?

If you were teaching someone to kick you would tell them not to watch the ball onto their boot?

Are you for real? Did you actually watch the game? Did you actually see him doing what he did? Have you ever kicked a footy? Are you just baiting again????
Yes i saw it.
no im not baiting
legitimate questions to one of the most staggering things i have read from you.

Do you really believe that he stuffed his kick because he watched the ball to his boot?

Do you really think that when kicking you should watch where you want it to go rather than the ball as you make impact? That watching the ball onto your boot will cause you to kick poorly? Is that what you would teach someone when teaching them to kick.

Staggering in this day and age that a player at this level cant connect his foot to the ball, under no direct pressure.

Meanwhile, young players from other clubs jag amazing goals out of their backsides under extreme pressure.

The two extremes in skills are heart breaking if your a Richmond supporter.

Forget the poor turnover in the last quarter.

He is a player that is lacking confidence within himself.

Dropped marks, not timing the contest right and poor decisions.

You should look at both but it does look like Astbury spends a bit to much time looking at it hit his boot

Really? Correct kicking technique is that you watch the ball onto the boot. Just as in cricket you watch the ball on to the bat. to reiterate a question from before - have you ever kicked a footy?
FWIIW I thought Astbury played very well. Pansted Pedersen. Looked composed. Will play most of the year I would think.

Seriously? if how the the stuff do you do both?

You pick your target and then watch the ball onto the boot as you kick it. Just like any sport where you strike a ball, with hand, foot, racquet  or stick, you watch the ball untill contact is made

Basic poo you are taught from a kid.

I cant believe this even needs to spelled out, or that people would sprout that they know anything about sport without this basic knowledge, let alone have the gall to belittle me with "have you ever even kicked a ball" without this fundamental understanding of the basics, when I point out your ignorance.

This is truly amazing and has taken stupidity to a completely new level.

and don't come up with any crap about context, because the initial statement was that arseberry watched the ball onto his boot rather than looking at where he wanted to kick it, so that is pretty much cut and dried wrong, and I would severely hope that anyone that thinks that is never anywhere near any person that needs guidance in how to kick a football.
