I thought we were tracking well.... ??? What is our record?

We are traking well compared to last year at the same time:

@ 29/3/2010 = 37,561

http://oneeyed-richmond.com/forum/index.php?topic=10127.msg179461#msg179461

And further

Our total number of members in 2010 was 42,311

Our record membership number was in 2009 = 46,041

So I reckon it is fair to say we will pass last year's number easily and will go close to setting a record

Just looking at those figures WP, it would be safe to forecast around 47k as our 2011 total.  In 2010 after Round 1 we signed a further 4,800 members, including a push for the 3 game membership late in the picture.  Projected to this year with a similar push for the 3 gamer (can only assume they will try that again and if we can win a few during late April/May then it should be productive) that would take us to just on 47k.  Setting a goal of 50k for the year and coming in at 47k (a record for the club) is a very good result because goals are just targets to aim for, not life and death outcome markers.  And it's the same with 3-0-75 - if we end up with 2 years of finals appearances, $500k debt and 70,000 members by 2014 then the club will (and have every right to) be very pleased with that result.

Of course, it still won't satisfy some.   :banghead

Yeah I understand that Mopsy (I thought it was called "Tiger Insider" but that doesn't matter anyway), my point was that if we do the same promotional push with it this year that we did last year (i.e. towards the end of the membership sales period) then we have every right to expect a similar outcome and thus achieve around the 47k mark, maybe even a few more if we can win a few games around that time, unlike last year when we were 0-9.

compared to  43,184 on the same date in 2009. Not too bad. A win this week would be perfect

How about giving all new members an incentive to renew so we don loose them.

They give members an incentive it's called the Rewards & Recognition program but alot of people pooh pooh it  ;D How many more incentives can they give?

The record number I posted for 2009 is a combined total of all members (ticketed & non-ticketed)

there should only be incentives for the kids because they love the stickers and caps and stuff. for the rest of us there should only be incentives for long term membership status. for example for 15 years of consecutive Richmond membership you can have the right to buy a richmond jumper signed by a player of your choice. At 25 years you get the signed Richmond jumper for free. Thats the type of incentive that would work.

That's right boys I used to wear my 2004 cap till I lost it and since then I have been wearing my 2009 cap.
I have a whole heap of caps and even this years one that are piled up on each other in the wardrobe of the spare room at my house.

In a few years I am a 20 year member I would love to have as Flagman says a jumper signed by my favourite player or entry into the rooms before a game to hear a coaches address to the players before we play the Pies.

Something memorable that will stick with me forever and will be worthwhile as well as giving all the supporters an oppportunity to live this dream and have the club give something back individually to someone who has stayed loyal to the footy club for a generation.

So the caps are waste of money daniel but jumpers (which cost alot more) aren't  ??? ::)  ;D

I like the idea Flagman in principle though

But the highest churn rate isn't in the long term supporters it is the 2-3 year group so what incentive for them?

INCENTIVE is if you hang around long enough you end up with a nice piece of memorabilia that you will keep a lifetime and not just some cap that will get thrown out after a while.

I thought this year they gave everyone the choice on the 'reward' they got, if they wanted one? I know I opted for a $10 voucher to encourage me to spend more at the Tiger Den  :thumbsup

Thanks correct and there was an option to just donate the money back to the club if you didn't want the reward.

By the way thanks WP for the membership record clarification  :thumbsup
