We won't this year with the messiah mentality in full swing at Windy Hill but in 2-3 years with winning form and our own bandwagon kicking in we have the potential growth to go right past Essendon and Hawthorn and yep easily be the second strongest Victorian club. The 70k members Benny is aiming at was never a too far-fetched plan provided there's onfield success to push us up to that Collingwood stratosphere. Opposition fans especially those under 30 will be quite shocked at the size and support we are capable of if and once we return to being the big successful Club we aiming to be again. It'll be their worst nigthmare! lol. It's up to us to now continue do things right both on and off-field that will get us there. No more stuff-ups and no more so-called quick fixes.

Can someone please explan to me why we aren't allowed to cash in on playing games in Hobart. It was a great idea when Benny mentioned it and I don't know why we don't just go there and play a couple of games there every year. I reckon play GC & GWS and we still have just as many home games as we do now.
If we pursue this I predict we overtake hawthorn tassie membership in 5 years.

Just talked my little brother into becoming a member. The kid lives week to week but wants to be a part of it. God help us when we start winning more than we loose.  :gotigers

Andy D stepped in and gave the deal to North because the nomads "needed" the deal more than we did. Actually the AFL wanted North to play 7 games down there but from memory the Tassie Government (under a bit of pressure from Hawthorn who wanted their cash for playing in Launceston as well) would only fund 2 games which was the original deal we wanted in the first place. Oh well it may turn into a blessing in the long run. We work now to become a strong club both on and off-field and remain a 100% Melbourne-based club which is what we would want. If Gary March keeps his word we'll be dumping the interstate home games as soon as we raise the $6 million or thereabouts and clear all our debts and fund our footy dept. properly.

We're only 275 off the 10,000 new members target. The Club should put the tally on hold for now and put up some prize for the person who ends up the 10,000th new member to attract more supporters to sign up. The prize can be say being in the rooms before and/or after a home game in the second half of the season.

A few people got excited about 50K members early on so now it's become the only acceptable target.

As it should be! Nothing wrong with reaching for 50K being in the position we are now in. If we had of lost to North and Bris then no-one would expect us to make 50k but a couple of wins and encouraging signs should make it a very achievable goal!

Stkilda are reaching for 45k and are on 38.5k

Club should come out and make 50,000 the new public target.
