Played a solid game Batch. Certainly puts his balls on the line more than guys like Houli, Ellis, Vickery etc

 :facepalm...

Here we go, this is another example of why we will never progress. Every game people accept these players and every year they are still in the team going through the motions every game.... :help

from the players that played last night

is bachelor the first that needs to be dropped?

Yep, him and Morris, have we done any better since they came in??? Play Elton instead or is Morris and Batch the future??

It seems like you dont watch much of the game, then just log in the morning after, check the stats and if they are on the lowish side for certaon players, make the assumption they are the worst players in the team.

On the logic of stats, youd believe B Ellis is a god.

And for the record i reckon Morris was reasonable last night.
Funny how people see things different. I thought Morris again tried hard, gave his all but was basically horrid. If his errors didnt cost at least 4 goals i will go heave.
I was at the game. Pretty fair summary of his performance.
Tries his guts out but just isn't good enough....

Did some effective attacking things (maybe two) but yes is generally very average like Batchelor and won't be 'the future'.

But what people like WAT should try to comprehend is that 'the future' isn't going to happen mid-season. We can't address these list issues until after the finals so playing C-grade players who invest 100% effort is a better option than watching guys like Houli and Chaplin who don't even try anymore despite being B-grade players at their best.

Play the kids and the blokes who put in effort, drop the oldies.

When rance is back add Yarran then add a Hurley, hopefully Ashbury can continue to develop maybe bachelor keeps a spot as the extra gap filler. Then it kinda resembles something we need.
Problem right now is injuries, form and just plain  shitness the c graders are getting shown for what they are, just that!

Hurley - Rance - Grimes
Yarran - XXX - XXX

That looks nice to me. Grimes can play mid/small, Yarran can play small/rebounder, but we're still short two quality defenders IMO. Need another rebounder and possibly another strong KPD around 190/90+. McIntosh fits the profile but I think his best football is on the wing personally...

l honestly think McIntosh is a bit dumb in the way he goes about his football at the moment. You are spot on that he is playing out of position. In fact l think several players are playing out of position at present trying to be gap fillers. This is where Hardwick fails in blooding new players & finding a elite talent. You keep your players in their positions & stick to the game plan.
Bring someone totally new into the team to find the next elite player capable of taking on the level required. Some of the best players in the AFL were found by chance. l have seen some absolute stars in the game who were trash at a lower level. Take a look at Dane Swan he was not any top 20 draft pick. In fact if l remember right he was not in the top 50 picks that year. Absolute star of the game. Richmond are too scared to take them chances & play them for 3 to 4 rounds. Let someone settle their nerves & excitment for a few weeks. Elton could be that player. McBean McKenzie could be anyone of them. When the Tigers are playing well, Batchlor is a very capable & damaging player. Yarran on one wing & McIntosh on the other

WAT

Serious question.

Who do you think Batch played on and furthermore, what impact did that player have for Hawthorn.

"I don't stuffing care he had the lowest possessions and is crap".

In other words

"I have no idea who Batch played on and whether he was effective in nullifying his impact."

I would have thought that stopping an opposition forward would be a good start for batch.

Keep on researching  :wallywink

And might I add, I'm not a Batch fan, so don't start up like a lunatic like normal. It's just I reckon you get your blinkers on and it becomes like a deranged juvenile with a weird vendetta.

That would just increase the likely hood of castagna getting moved to half back......

just out of curiosity, from what you have seen of him so, what position suits castagna best?

Nice try but you won't get an answer. Avoids the straight forward questions does WAT. Too hard to answer in rhetoric dribble without it being easy to call out

perhaps he's realised it is better to be quiet and thought a fool rather than having a say and proving it?
