Has a trial date been set yet? Given how slow the courts are, the Club will probably have to make a decision about Krak's footy future first with the end of the season only 5 weeks away. This will cloud any trade discussion with another club.

Exactly, MT.

The next date is Oct 22, which is after trade week. I can't see how any club could trade for him in those circumstances.

Cheers GB. Yep unless Krak's trial is brought forward before October he has zilch trade value. Port were interested in him but won't be now.

Krakouer in limbo
02 September 2007   Sunday Herald Sun
Jon Ralph

RICHMOND is likely to defer any decision on troubled midfielder Andrew Krakouer's future at the club, with the West Australian due to appear in court on October 22.

The Tigers' season came to an end yesterday, with a number of players at the club facing the chop in a post-season review.

Krakouer has played nine games this season and only two since Round 9, with his form steadily deteriorating since he played some excellent trial games early on.

The 24-year-old has played the season with assault charges hanging over his head after a December incident in Perth, with the charges recently upgraded to assault intending to occasion bodily harm.

Those charges carry a maximum term of 20 years' jail.

While Krakouer would likely be dropped from the list on form alone, the club has done everything possible to support him in a tough year.

IIRC the cut-off date for delistings is Oct 31 which is after the court appearance so it won't interfer with that. However it's after trade week though in early Oct so he has no trade value even if he did or Port were still interested.

The players have their annual "chat" with Plough on Monday/Tuesday.

Yeah or Neah: 27. Andrew Krakouer

The last of the uncontracted players is Krak.

He's had 7 years at Punt Rd and brought up his 100th game this year. Finished the year with 9 games, 6 goals at an average of 10.4 disposals.

Any fans of Krak still here or time to move him on?

Hard one this.
Just not good enough this year.
What affect are these charges having ?
Should we give him next year after this mess is cleaned up, that is if he is not put away.
See how he responds with a clear head.

He's 24-ish years old and should be a regular by now.

Didn't do enough this year to warrant another contract with the club, or any AFL club for that matter. Should get a reasonable enough contract in the WAFL to feed his family with.

Time for RFC and Krak to part ways.

Has been a contributor, but not a consistent performer.

Hope that Krak finds a place in the AFL somewhere, if not, hope that he continues to play footy somewhere as when he gets the pill he has the talent to do something with it.

He had his chances, he blew it.
No doubt Port or someone will pick him up and make him a star  ::)
Certainly has a bit of potential but no heart

Yeah ...

if people think that we should get rid of him and not tivendale that is a massive joke ...

tivendale has been there longer then him and has done nothing ...

krakouer has more skill then tivendale would ever have ...

krakouer should be on an 1 year contract now ...

if he goes Tivendale should go ...

Edwards has taken Krak's spot in the team. Pure FPs are a dying breed in the AFL which means the end for Krak IMO. Unlike Edwards, Krak doesn't have the engine to play AFL midfield.
