If this was a one-off shocker, I'd wait until tomorrow to calm down, and then post. But if our "efforts" against Melbourne, Carlton and Essendon weren't bad enough, this was, and it deserves all the rage it will no doubt get. Seriously, to think that we were "finals contenders" 3-4 weeks ago... Port Adelaide must now feel threatened for bottom spot. Utterly DISMAL performance, for the 4th week in a row.
Push up!

Mini-me's netball team play better than the Tigers - and they have won 3 straight Grand Finals!

the lack of heart and guts across the board is stuffing frightening.
Lack of talent is a close second.

If Browne plays again Hardwick can go stuff himself.
Smug little accountant turd.
Some things he CAN control and picking the team is ONE of them.
His selections suggest he has NFI.

stuffing essendon loser.

Todays performance makes the 3 - 0 - 75 campaign a joke. We are a bottom side and most likely will be next year if we don't step up big time over the off-season this summer.

The whole campaign was a joke from the beginning - u simply do not set public goals like this.

Next year when we're still skata these comments will b in the papaper every week - heat on hardwick and club will come bigtime

Schwarz saying we've gone backwards this year  ::). How can you go backwards from being a bottom side Ox. We are just a bottom side with the worst list along with Brisbane in the AFL. You were saying we had improved only 6 weeks ago  ::).

we have gone backwards
EXACTLY like 2006
You're overrating the players and 85% of the list. We have barely VFL standard footballers making up most of the side and list. Along with Brisbane we have the worst list in the AFL by miles and by far the dumbest footballers in the AFL. Many little leaguers know more about the basic principles of footy than our guys. We need help from the AFL as was suggested last year. We can't turn over the list as fast and by as much as we need to do to get us out of this hole. People say make changes. What changes? Who is going to come in from Coburg today who is part of our future and make a difference? Lucky to find anyone!  :help
in amongst all the hand wringing and blaming game at last a post that is correct. we are littered with glass half fulls we have easily20 to turn over. our kids in the main have proven nothing but are already on pedestals  and the majority of seniors are crap.

and people think we have gone backwards what a joke, we have done what we always do beat a few ordinary sides the ferals get excited for a little bit but the lack of talent means we invariably fall back to mediocrity.

oh and just a bit of a defense for hardwick. id like to see any other coach in the land get the abundance of hacks that we have playing consistent footy. in fact what he does at the end of the season off field rather than any results on field  will determine for me weather hes the right man for the job.
he can recognise he does not have the cattle and many of those we do have has to go. he can actually continue to do the hard yards, or he can do a wallace back in sub standard players and go nowhere.
it would be easy for them to say we can only go up and will improve,  much harder to be honest and say there could well be more of the same next yr as we continue to cut and work out who can take us forward.
when hardwick took over the time frame  was never going to be 2 or 3 yrs but more like 7 or 8. i honestly thought most of us who have seen it all for 30 yrs understood this but obviously with all the wrist slashing thats going on most have been living in cuckoo land.

they're already better than us and the gap will widen as their far superior talent base will develop a lot more than ours.

Its a hopeless situation - seriously what hope does this footy club have of ever being a serious player?

I dont think we will be able to be better than Gold Coast for at least 5 years probably longer. This generation of tiger players of some substance at least those with some ability like Martin and Cotchin will be lost just like Richo and Knights etc.

Martin has gone backwards since his Brisbane game.
Cotch is in and out of the game.
Lids is becoming lazy.
Jack is injured and as a result petulent.
Our middle tier players would be handy players running around in the ammos.
No ruckman.
No future key talls in defence.
Smashed in contested possessions.
Psychologically smashed and unable to raise a hand in defiance and pride.
Off field spectacular dreams and promises that have answers and time frames 3 or four years in the future.
Been listening to this since Miller in 2003 when he said we expect to be a finalist in 2007.
Club needs to change its culture its philosophy. Maybe eat em alive was fine in a by gone era but we need to establish something for the future. Can't keep living on the bygone past because the recent history the present and the future is grim. Club is in disarray on the field and Benny has to accept and come out and admit the job is greater than what we thought it was 2 years ago let alone 2 months ago. Reassessments required. Need some honesty from the club right now rather than philosophy fantasy and parody.

Going by twitter Hardwick was very short at his post match presser.
Be interesting to read what he said.

Just got back from the game. I was sitting just behind the bench.

The third quarter killed it for us. As a team, we are not fit enough to run out the games.  Cotch was done in about halfway through the third quarter, same with Axel, Jacko and the other mids. We didn't run as hard as the Suns in both directions.  In the 3rd, it looked like we thought the wind (which was worth 5-6 goals) would win it for us.  Too many of our mids were just jogging along, while GC were running harder in both directions.

Just like the last three games, the opposition was more intense at the ball - faster and wanted it more, especially around the stoppages.

Why we never had players starting off the back of the centre square at bounces when the Suns had the wind, I'll never know.  Also, our setup around stoppages in the defensive half needs a lot of work. It was too easy for the Suns to create space.
