Anyway regardless that win can only be good for the confidence of the players & winning on the MCG against Sydney was what us supporters wanted & it was delivered. Moral will be high this week & l just want to see the lads win any games they can or at least put in solid efforts  :thumbsup

unfuginbeeleevable.

What....winning,

I dont object to the odd opportunistic tank but today and this year is not the day or year to be tanking. Beating Sydney and 1 of Demons, Crow and Kangas (ideally 2) gives me the confidence we are heading in the right direction and gives evidence that when we get that transition game going from half back we look ok.  A massive step forward today, real shame Batch went down because he looked good again today.

Jack had his best game for months, the spring in his leap started coming back.

Yeah, from where we were a month ago this win is so important. we still may not win another game they they have clawed their way out of a horrible slump so it shows things have changed at the club.

 not since northy....

Bloody loved today, I was at the game and I would love to know if something different happened pre-match because the lads came on the ground and then ran down to the goal square with a real purpose, lots of blokes sprinting around and generally looking up and about.

Just got home.34.337 attended and seen a great game.thank god we have Bachar Houli .great game.

Great pick up has been Houli

Must up in the top 4 for the B&F IMHO

Thought it was the best game I've seen from Thursfield - was really "on" today

ANd I thought Jack was great best I've seen move (running etc) since the first 8 rounds

As good as Rance was today he needs to curtail his kamikaze style of defence. Busts too many packs open and takes out team mates, while creating the sort of dangerous spillage that opposition forwards would love. Needs to get better at killing the ball with a punch.

Our defence looks so much better without McGuane, in fact today it was our strength which is quite unusual.

Our defence looks so much better when we win the midfield, that's the reality of it, regardless of who's playing down back.

Rance was the best player on the ground imho closely followed by Cotchin. Rance will be our FB for the next decade if todays performance is anything to go by and with Dea and Batchelor showing plenty, our backline is starting to shape up. Throw Grimes into the mix and our backline is beginning to come together. Thursfield also had a day out and with Houli and Lids providing poise, experience and ball movement, players such as McGuane, Moore, Farmer and even Newman may struggle to find a spot in the B50 very soon.

After our rucks, our midfield suddenly seems an area of concern for me. Tuck was fantastic at winning the ball today and when he was able to handball the ball to a better ball user (ie Cotch) he was a tremendous asset. When he was forced to despose of the ball quickly himself, his weaknesses were exposed but there is no doubt that our midfield was better with him in it today.

with a lot of those kicks you refer to, most other blokes in the side wouldn't get boot to ball in that circumstance...if they even had the ball in the first place.

You may be right with some but there was plenty of other occasions when in the hands of a better ball user, say any of our other midfielders, they would not have made those same mistakes and/or turned it over. It is the conundrum that is our Tucky.

It's no coincidence that since Tucky returned our overall performance has improved.  Same with Miller.  Many bag him out but since his return we have shown a lot more function and purpose in the forward line - I'll use the term "structure" even though some don't like it!
