yep dont know much about him but i certainly would take him ahead of another dime a dozen midget in Maric.

He was an emergency at the Pies so definately worth a shot. Very little risk in selecting him

Agree daniel

Think it's just about a given we will take him in the PSD

Former Collingwood player John McCarthy would have been picked tonight but is also bound for the pre-season draft, where he is expected to be picked by either Port Adelaide or Richmond.

When does the speculation start about what's going on with McCarthy now?  ;D all the senior spots are full. I imagine Port would offer something a little more substantial than a rookie list spot, so does anybody think somebody will get the chop or Newman on to veterans list?

We don't have PSD pick at this stage?

Depends now if Gourdis has gone or Newy moves to the veterans' list.

The Tigers still hope to take Collingwood's John McCarthy in December's pre-season draft, but are aware Port Adelaide is circling with an earlier pick.

''He has been training with us so he's a possibility for the pre-season draft. (Port Adelaide) have spoken to him but he's been trainnig with us for the last couple of weeks so we will see how that unfolds,'' Jackson said.

November 30 is Club list lodgement three. So on Wednesday we'll find out how the Club will be freeing up a spot on our senior list so we have a PSD pick.

He could potentially push Jackson out of the side, get him in ASAP!  :pray

That's not a huge statement.

A King Henry in an RFC sock coming off an injury riddled preseason could push Jackson out.

There isn't much we can do to stop Port Adelaide snaffling him is there?

If he flat out says he doesn't want to go there is a good chance they won't pinch him. He could also put a price on his head. I don't reckon he'll come to us if best we can do is a rookie spot, considering the Port interest, unless we promise or something to elevate him.

There is only the training footage as far as I know. As long as we don't have to bend over backwards I think he will be excellent. He will certainly bolster the list and would play plent of footy. He's no weapon but he was emergency most weeks at the Pies and was only kept out by a pretty solid midfield. Easy upgrade on some currently listed mids.

Rather not free up any spots and draft Rookies.

What is the date of the Pre-Season/Rookie draft?
