Presumably we'll be playing the Suns only once again up in Cairns
.
So having a guess at putting the pieces together so far:
1. Carlton (away)
3. Collingwood? (home?)
?. Adelaide ...... playing them twice so I'm presuming the first is early on in the season like the others.
8. Essendon (dreamtime - home)
10. West Coast (away)
11. Bye? ..... break after travelling to Perth?
12? Geelong (away at KP) .... bloody hope not again
?. Gold Coast ('home' in Cairns)
?. Carlton (home)
?. Collingwood (away?)
?. Adelaide
?. Essendon (away)
Remaining 11 games split over the remaining 10 opposition clubs. So we'll only play one other bottom 8 side from this year twice aside from Essendon and Carlton.
I'll take another stab and say the AFL will make us travel to each state only once with the possible exception Qld. So that'll mean home games only against Freo and Port; a H/A split between GWS and Sydney; and our usual away game at the 'Gabba against Brisbane.
Add one game also against the remaining Vic-based top 8 sides Hawthorn and North.
So that'd leave either St Kilda or Melbourne as the other team we play twice. If we are switched on and genuine finals contenders then either should be two winnable games and 8 pts.
That wouldn't be the worst draw but not one of the easiest either as Adelaide, Collingwood, Carlton and Essendon who we rumouredly are playing twice will all be aiming to play finals as well. Claw you may get your wish and if we make the finals next year we'll have earned it.
