when petterd was 1st drafted by melb he was a jet

in juries then took a toll

can assure u when his body is 100% this guy will be a jet again

must persist

And with your history we can lock Petterd in as yet another mistake. He's no Foley though, he aint that bad

90% of the time Petterd does the right thing in the backline but he's got to cut out calling for the ball when a opposition player is only 5m in front of him and he's forced to kick under pressure. It cost us at least two soft goals to Freo today.

I thought he was solid, not perfect though. At least he didn't get pantsed like Morris did. Morro hardly won a contest today, very unlike him.

AUDIO: Tigers Ricky Petterd joined he Morning Glory to talk about the big clash with the Sydney Swans this weekend.

http://www.sen.com.au/audioplayer/Audio/Ricky-Petterd-Tgers-forward/8693

* On the weekend, there were still a lot of things we need to work on, and if we don’t, we’re not going to be able to show it against Hawthorn and Sydney. We had a chat after the game and Dimma was pretty strong on some of the things we need to work on. It was more the stuff we can control, like our ball movement and our running patterns. We shoot ourselves in the foot a little bit, in terms of the places we run, and we just make it hard for us to score.

* The boys did a good job against them last year over here, but it’s going to be tough. They’re an extremely good outfit, but I can tell you now the boys are super-excited to get over to Sydney and have a crack.

* I’m really enjoying playing down there at the moment.  It’s easier to get a kick down there than what it is up forward sometimes. I have a chat to Dimma every week and he just wants me to be hard and tough, and be hard to play on. He doesn’t want anything special from me – he just wants me to be another contributor in the back six.

And that's the important one.
Was driving me crazy on the weekend how - when we had a set kick from 60 to 80 metres out - we had all our players running into our forward 50. At one stage I counted 8 Richmond players and their opponents in the forward 50 when we had a kick from 60 going to Punt Road End. WTF.

There was NO room for any forward to make any type of lead with all space clogged and then if there was a turnover they had open space to run into going the other way. Guess how they kicked their only two goals of the first half. In the second half we started to get better by leaving two spare in the back half but didn't structure up through the midfield and defence so their loose men came in the centre thus nullifying to an extent our numbers deep.

Williams the lesser needs to be replaced ASAP by someone like O'Loughlin who understands how a forward line should structure up like he did at Sydney.

If you were the opposition coach facing Richmond you would first worry about Riewoldt and would plan to have a third man on him to help spoil in the air and run off at ground level making Jack chase as much as possible, which is exactly what happened early on Sunday. You would also hope Riewoldt played well out from goal and was surrounded by lot of traffic. Om this score you don't have to worry cos Richmond sets up that way for you.   :banghead
