Richmond great Matthew Richardson has totally endorsed the Tigers’ decision to re-sign veteran Kamdyn McIntosh for a further year.
“It’s good news that McIntosh will be continuing at Richmond next season,” Richardson said.”
“Given the retirements and exodus of so many experienced players throughout the past few years, it leaves us now with only Nick Vlastuin, Dion Prestia and Tom Lynch as 200-game players on the playing list.
“McIntosh, currently on 190 games, can join them this year, and what a great achievement that would be for the ultimate team man.
“The dual premiership Tiger’s experience, but also, most importantly, his training standards and ability to bring teammates together during the week, will be vital with a young playing group moving forward.
“He is a culture-setter around the Club, which is a vital factor, and he’s an extremely popular character as well with his sense of fun and adventure.
“On game day, you know he will play whatever role is asked of him by senior coach Adam Yze, and always give it 100 percent.
“The new batch of young players coming to Tigerland soon, via the national draft, will undoubtedly benefit by having Kamdyn McIntosh alongside them as they start their AFL journeys.”
