Pretty shrewd pick up by the tigers, well ahead of where Maric was at same age and with the work of renowned ruck whisperer lade! the rest is history. :shh .....Blair. Hartley , you've done it again  :clapping

I have faith in the club. Maric was crap until he landed here. Lade is doing an excellent job as far as I'm concerned.

Looks to me like they want:
- Vickery to take over from Maric
- McBean to take over from Vickery
- Hampson to take over from Stephenson

Over the next few years that is.

Let's face it. Longer wanted Hawthorn. Not really that many developed ruckman going around afaik. Although I HAVE been saying for over a year now we should be targeting Warnock. No chance now...

It's that simple Spud

Maric has been good for 1 year only and that was last year - this year he was just ok. Grigg I would have delisted this year or traded out coz hes ordinary. Houli has been good since he got here. Aaron Edwards, the bloke we got from Melbourne whats his name lol thats right Petterd who reminds me of kayne Pettifer and Lonergan and afew others have been ordinary recruits.

Richmond supporters are easily pleased with average players. No wonder we havent fired a shot as a club for 30 years.

Recruits from other club that are average that people are raving about:

Ivan Maric - been good. Especially last year otherwise was average this year.
Shaun Grigg - very average IMHO and I would trade out
Bachar Houli - has been very good since he got here
Chris Knights - got injured and has hardly played
Sam Lonergan - hasnt done anything
Aaron Edwards - played about 3 good games only. Maybe 2.
Ricky Petterd - hasnt done anything IMHO.
Orren Stephenson - came from Geelong as a back up and played 3 games.

thats the reality. Lets be honest its not a great list. Its actually pretty poor to be honest. Richmonds improvement has come from the likes of Ellis, Conca, Vlastuin, Rance and afew others who all came through the draft. Outside of Maric who filled a need and Houli what have the others done?

those draftees you all talk about were 1'st rounders, or picks under 20, the picks that by far have the most success rate.

you then compare them to blokes, who we have given up FA for, three of them on the rookie list, one a pick we would not have used, one a PSD,, one a free agent who was doing pretty good until he copped a bad luck injury and maric who was traded for a draft pick that historically is not that succesfull when spent on kids.

Gee lucky you don't barrack for the swans, you'd have ruptured a poopa valve when roos gave up a first round draft pick for a third string melbourne ruckman

you really should read money ball ramps, an interesting read.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

You forgot chaplin.

like it or not ramps, 5-6 of that list are in our starting 22 and contributed to us winning 15 games.

Ask yourself what have we given up for that list.
