That's the thing Loui. Happy to use a third rounder if worse comes to worse but second. Really!!

People here dont watch enough footy obviously if they think he is worth that.

Geez Harold Geez on a unicycle is Greg Miller back?

A second rounder for Hampson is ludicrous and would be incompetent list management of the highest order.

As well as that it gives the Blues consecutive picks in the 20's, don't like that either.

Would at least be on par with the McMahon for pick 19 trade.

CARLTON ruckman Shaun Hampson could be one of the first players to find a new home when the Gillette AFL Trade Period commences on Monday morning, with Richmond making a concerted play for the big Blue.

Hampson is contracted for next season but AFL.com.au understands Richmond has expressed strong interest in the 25-year-old, keen to provide more support for No.1 ruckman Ivan Maric.

Hampson is believed to be weighing up a new start at Punt Road, having fallen behind Robert Warnock in Carlton's ruck pecking order in the second half of 2013.

Maric has carried lingering groin problems through the past two seasons as he has shouldered the bulk of the Tigers' ruck load, but Hampson could help ease that burden.

However, the Tigers might face competition in brokering a trade for Hampson, with Hawthorn also reportedly keen on the Blue.

Hawks are only going to pay pick 18 or something for longer as well. We have well and truly been dudded on this deal for Hampson. Its as bad as the McMahon trade.

I still think picking up Hampson is a good move, for pick 28 well I am undecided :-\.

How good would our recruiters have to be to pick up a champ or a comparative player to Hampson at pick 28? What pick was JON, Patterson, Myer etc.? I know there have been gems picked up at 28 and after but they are few and far between when looking at the amount of players that did not make it at that pick.

I don't want to give up pick 28 but if Hampson works out as Maric has then we wont ever raise this issue again.

WAT go watch the clip of Hampsons games then make your decision. He is a late pick and nothing less. Pick 28 is vital for our development and future and this pick should be used to a three way deal to land quality like Adams involving a third club perhaps. Hawks picked up Gibson and Gunston around this mark now that's  what I call like for like, not some d grade hack.

As Ramps suggested too hawks coughing up pick 18 for longer yet we may pay 28 for hampson. :banghead :banghead :santa. It's farcical.

He was given plenty of opportunities and failed. Levi Cas and spud Warnock are now ahead of him and that enough is a cause for concern.

At least the crows had Jacobs who was a great ruckman then ahead of Maric.

I wouldn't compare the 2 ruckman.
