The AFL should bring in NFL-style special teams for "special" players like Hamspud....

I think he's a useless tap ruckman also. He might tap it first but that doesn't mean its effective.
The club that keeps giving.

Persistence with this guy proves the place isn't being run with any real intelligence.

It really is that stuffn simple.

2/ most clubs actually take young ruckmen in the nd and then develop them. its only when development has failed that clubs will then target mature ruckmen or any sort of player for that matter.
our trouble atm is we refuse to acknowledge development has failed.

Look at the modern day premiers. Most are mature aged ruckmen taken from other clubs
2014/3 - Hale for Hawthorn originally from North
2012 - Mumford for Sydney originally from Geelong
2011 - Ottens for Geelong originally with us
2010 - Jolly for Collingwood originally from Melbourne

Add McEvoy to that list for Hawthorn, and now see that Port has snapped up Paddy Ryder to assist Lobbe.

Need to steal a good one who is already playing in the first 22 of their club IMO.

of the last ten premiership, 3 were with the club that originally drafted them.

is that not most?

freo -  sandi, clarke,
geel - simpson vardy blicsavs  west and king home grown played in recent premierships yes they bought in ottens and now mcintosh.

now if 14 15 clubs arent a majority ill be damned. why are there so many nuffies on this site who never ever think for themselves,  they  just follow their foolish mates around the site who are  so full of poo its hilarious.
stk - hickey they took longer from another club as a 19yr old so basically they are developing him.
syd - pyke
wce - lycett, natainui sinclair and cox just retired.
wb - minson
can almost add adelaide as they took jacobs from another club at age 20.

so we take our lead from those that missed the big prize and ignore the trend of premiership winners?

i suppose that makes sense as each season most clubs miss don't win the premiership

Or maybe you just blindly try and argue with the majority because it makes you feel like you are smarter than everyone else (except Doic because he makes it clear to everyone he is the smartest).
The original comment is you don't desperately need a ruckman until you are in a premiership window, so who gives a stuff what the rest of those teams do? Only one of them are going to win it and in recent times the premiership winners have topped up their ruck stocks and won shortly after.

just gotta love the narcisstic view that if more than person disagree with you then they are all just following each other.
no way in world that multiple people could independently have a view that differs from the one, is there?
