Edit & Snip  :banghead :banghead

Stick to the topic with out the name calling.

Debate the issue without the name calling. People are entitled to disagree and debate.

I don't care who started it, not interested in people finger pointing....

This a final warning. Continue with the insults and name calling and suspensions will be issued

With the new match review panel it might be that posters just get a fine like Lindsey Thomas?
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Let's not fail to highlight the key issue here though.

Hampson didn't just cross to us and become a poo player overnight, Wizza Capper style.

He was an exposed very ordinary player. Carlton members nicknamed him cymbals because he has hands like them when marking.

It was obvious to even the most casual observer that he was and is poo. And our recruiters got him. And paid highly for him.

And our club hierarchy has never once held them to account about it.

That should never, ever be forgotten.

And their bombs and their guns.
In your head, in your head, they are crying...

but the clapped out commodore in your example still does what you want it to.

the hampson version wont start, misfires and gets past by old ladies on mobility scooters, yet still takes valuable parking space. no matter how much you paid for it, you have squandered your hard earned.

I guess it depends how he rates vs. your expectations

so what expectations do you have when you recruit a player? when you target an opposition player specifically i expect him to, at the bare minimum, hold his own
are you really happy to have a ruckman on the list that does swa around the ground as long as you only give up a third round pick?

me, i dont want an underperforming player on the list full stop. giving up a later pick for him doesnt improve his performance or make it any more acceptable.

Exactly if you were taking a player like this on you should be compensated in some manner not expected to give something up

Yep I agree with that being a bare minimum. I don't think I made it clear that I was arguing the point 'crap is crap regardless of what you pay' not so much as was Hampson worth what we paid because he wasn't.

What about a rookie pick though? For example someone with outstanding atheltic attributes who is new to the game but then he turns out to be a dud?
