Yep don't want to be seen as being dictated to by the members & supporters
Have to make it look like they have carefully considered their options
Have to agree WP, the RFC do not like to admit a mistake. And this is/was hopefully, a mistake. Really starting to get annoyed with the way they handle things.. This kid is a very good young talent and is exactly what our side needs. Sure he was on another list but he is no 'Monkeyball' player. He got squeezed out of a list with so much young talent it just couldn't keep them all. And he won't be the last one either. We should really target some of their young guys. Blair should be spending his time looking into this sort of trades instead of the 'depth players' of recent times.
The stupid thing about all this, is they will probably start him as sub in his first game just to keep playing their stupid, 'we are still not sure' thing.
Then after a week or two, he will be in the middle more times than not.
Yes, one can make a fair case that Miles would have been a better choice than Gordon or Lloyd, being two years younger and direct from another AFL club
Nathan Gordon North Adelaide 12/2/90 186cm 86kg
Sam Lloyd Frankston 3/3/90 180cm 63kg
Anthony Miles GWS Giants 28/2/92 179cm 78kg
and even
Todd Banfield Brisbane Lions 28/6/90 183cm 83kg
Of course this ignores the judgement by the List Committee that Miles was a lesser player than the other three. Based on exposed from so far, that judgement looks a bit shaky.
At least he's on our list so it's not another tragic what if scenario. One would hope they make all the right moves from here on however.
