They should have waited until next year for the grand revival match, the first afl game played since 1964, to have it with a capacity crowd of 20,000 or what ever it will hold when it's all finished.

Stoopid bloody time to have it anyway.

This is one big balls up as far as I'm concerned, especially when it comes to supporters wanting to see football at their beloved home ground.

Surely no idiot would intentionally schedule a game like this, with this much history behind it, without having the supporters in mind.

It's a practice match.  They play them at country grounds all over Australia and many of them don't have much more capacity than PRO will have that day.  And I repeat, it's a practice match, a training drill if you like.

theres too much stupidity in this thread. PRO is our historical home but after the first bit of enthusiasm we will all find that the capacity of the ground wont need to be more than 3000-4000 people because thats how many people at most will be attending any match at Punt Road. Asking the club to pay for extra capacity is stupid. Itll just take away from our football resources.

I kinda got that it's a praccy match, the title of the thread sort of says that too.
No real need to repeat something so obvious.

Anyhow, it was more about the fact that Lids and the rest of the boys were excited and proud to play a match on Punt rd Oval. Which is what he was saying on triple m the other day.

Then there's probably no need to go round calling club officials idiots for recognising that either.

Is this being televised?

No

It's not a NAB challenge game (18 games in 18 days rubbush) it's just an old fashioned praccy game

Agree WP, interesting that Newy & Dimma both referred to it as NAB 3 though

True but some coaches have been calling the NAB Challenge series the NAB Cup so I think they are all just making sure they say "NAB" to plug the sponsor  ;D
