can someone explain to me how we have 5 nd picks.
we cut 5 from the list proper ohanlon, jackson, king, edwards, and helbig.  that would create 5 picks. thing is we have promoted miles to the list proper  taking one of those spots.
what am i missing here to me to use 5 nd picks we have to cut another player.
Our 5th ND pick will be used on rookie upgrading Miles to the senior list. So we currently have 4 live picks. If we pick up a delisted free agent (eg: Hunt) then that will be reduced to 3 live picks.
I think we played one short last year?

Yep we played Grugg every week.

And 3 short when Newman limped into the mix
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

I noticed the auto-correct but decided to leave it. Seemed a better fit.

We had our full quota of 38 senior listed players. Newman was veteran listed but he was still 'inside' our senior list. What changed was the AFL brought in a rule in the last year or two to allow clubs with less than two veterans outside their senior list, to upgrade a rookie(s) to their senior list with needing a player to be on that club's long-term injury list. That's what allowed Thomas to be promoted prior to round 1.

As a rookie or psd pick why not. Particularly the rookie list for depth.

thanks one eyed so why are the club spinning it as 5 nd picks. the reality is we only have 4 nd picks and if we take taylor hunt as a f/a we will only have 3.

there can be no more delistings unless we delist a contracted player so we probably cant even take a player we really like who slips in the nd.
hhhaaarrrrggggg  they sure are embracing the nd ive never heard so much spin and bull dust come out of their mouths.

the more i look the more it looks like they will only use  picks 12, 33, and 52, my money is still on at least 3 of the rookies being mature types as well. yep we sure as hell are investing in youth.
locked and loaded gentlemen lets not forget it.

RICHMOND

Mitch Robinson (Carlton, 25, 100 games)

Why Robinson? He's a hard midfielder who brings versatility, loves to tackle and can play in the forward line. Fits the bill when it comes to the Tigers' desire to bolster their midfield stocks with ready-to-go players and his presence will support their prime ball winners.

Likelihood: 1/10. Robinson met with Richmond but it appears as though he's headed to the Brisbane Lions after it was reported they trumped the Tigers' one-year offer with two.

We never offered him one year, we offered him a spot on the rookie list FACT!
Good luck to Brisbane, but with the midfield they already have I can't see how he breaks I to it to be honest?
