Butler welcomes new home ...

VIDEO: http://www.richmondfc.com.au/video/2015-01-23/butler-welcomes-new-home

* Playing all that footy last year was pretty full on. With year 12 as well, there was a lot of times I had to sacrifice things, like school or extra sessions. I think I handled it pretty well.  I had good time management and I just sorted everything out.

* The boys have welcomed me in and it’s made the transition so much easier for me. Coming in, I was nervous but they’ve all just accepted me and brought me into the Club and now I feel at home here. Preseason here has been tough. It’s nothing like I’ve ever done before. It’s a massive step up from everything, just training every day.  It’s a big difference from training at the Rebels twice a week. It’s good fun.  It’s good being around the boys and you know you’re getting fitter each day. Everyone’s just looking forward to Round 1.”

* My main goal is to get back to full training.  If I can get a NAB Cup game that’d be great but I’m not putting any expectations on myself. I’ve got to get into full training again and just show what I can do.

This guy has something. He is very quick and creative.

Need to play him up forward a bit this year. Has the goods to be a great small forward.

Looked quite good, though his disposal didn't always compliment his decision making.

Agreed. Looked good and can stand up in a tackle. Liked him. :thumbsup

Was pleasantly surprised by his pace, disposal was OK as well

good debut without being outstanding

Sounds & looks to me like another Ben Nason.

Its highly unlikely that FJ has got a hit at pick 67. Has he had a win past first round yet?

I hope I'm wrong though but I'm not expecting much from this fellow.

He may have gone pick 67 but I know people that rated him much higher. Now I know why. Didn't set the world on fire but I saw something there which I didn't see in Drummond who we took earlier.

As one of the very few who thought Nason wasn't nearly as bad as everyone makes out, reckon Butler looks like he'll be better ..stronger, quicker and a better tackler for a start.....

Agree with Doc but I think he would be quite good as a rotational type player through the midfield.
