$1m for public toilets and some showers? GTFO you are taking the pee Powell

Its actually more along the lines of, fix up Jack Dyer Stand, add turnstiles/gates, add more fencing, create more standing room available, make more seating available, put in bench for teams, upgrade change rooms, upgrade canteen facilities + public toilets.

So we aiming to play games from 2014 at punt road or 2015 then?

Still TBD for 2014.

Let's get going then

Give them the $$$ and I sure they would start tomorrow  ;D

I'm only 1 European Lottery win away from doing that WP.  Wish me luck on behalf of the Tige's.  Oh, and can you buy me a ticket in it please?

Infrastructure expansion is something I could handle the Club going into debt for

I wouldn't, we've down that road, it is one of the reasons(not the main one) we've carried the debt we had. They borrowed to fund the pool and and offices just on 10 years ago

They've worked to hard to get of the debt, need to look at others ways to fund it. Also don't want investment in the footy side of things being compromised by borrowing

Respectfully disagree
Back then we did not have 50k + members, sponsorship was negligible, AFL dividend was not as great etc etc
We need VFL games @ Punt Road ASAP
Whether we fund via debt or other means it needs to happen
Our debt is what ? 2-3 million ? , i personally am in for nearly that !!

You make a valid point but I would argue that all those things you've mentioned that are on the rise eg sponsorship, more members are the things that are helping provide the extra spend in the footy dept. not forgetting the FTF is not going to be the massive money raiser it has been.

Agree they have to get the VFL games at Punt Road as soon as practical but I don't want our ability to properly fund and field our own VFL side or the number of development coaches we have for players to be compromised because we've gone into debt again.

Also, it's not like we are talking indefinitely we are talking 12 months max a small inconvenience to get it absolutely right

Agree footy dept spend comes first, but TFTF is continuing, raised more then we had hoped for, yes 6m was the target but I dont think that was the realistic target !
Maybe its just me !
I am moving to Melb in Jan 14 for the first time after being a member for 23 consecutive years & want to see first class footy @ PRO NOW !!!

At the AGM they said they were looking at a "variety of options" (aka no idea at this stage)

From twitter:

philshelton27 - "why can't players train at punt rd turf laid and told after break training resume at punt rd"

Richmond_FC: "they can, we're only about a week away. We need to let the turf 'settle' before they train on it."

Would rather them wait another month or 2 to be honest instead of getting on asap only to have someone do a knee on shifting turf.   :'(
