AFL cuts fans some slack with freeze on finals ticket prices
Herald-Sun
August 26, 2016

FOOTBALL finals tickets will cost fans no more than last season as the AFL freezes prices for a second consecutive year.

A week after landing a new $2.5 billion TV rights deal, the league will on Wednesday unveil its finals tickets plans with AFL senior executive Travis Auld admitting the broadcast agreement had “made it easier for us to reward fans”.

Four Victorian teams are in the eight — Hawthorn, Richmond, Western Bulldogs and North Melbourne — and Geelong could yet join them for September and October.

For weeks one and two at the MCG, a bottom-level adult seat will be $40 with the top-class set at $85. A children’s ticket — under 15 — will range from $12 to $26.

A base seat at one of the two preliminary finals will cost $68 while the top category is $170.

Seats at the October 3 Grand Final will range from $180 to $399.

Grand Final concession seats range from $153 to $339. There are no children’s tickets.

With Fremantle and West Coast on the top two rungs of the ladder, two of the first four finals appear set to be played in Western Australia.

The two preliminary finals could also be played in the west if the Dockers and Eagles win their first finals.

The MCG is guaranteed to host the Grand Final. Finals tickets go on sale on September 7.

Club email:

Every deft-defying mark, every bone-crunching tackle, every body-on-the-line smother - they're all for the finals. Just as every hoarse throat, every sodden jacket and every long journey home, they're all for the finals too. For 23 rounds, we've all been wanting the same thing - to be there in September - and here we are. There's no atmosphere like it, so get your tickets early...

Sorry but I don't feel sorry for them.  Even a 3 game membership would give them access.......
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

Some people can't even make 3 games...

P.S no one asked if you feel sorry for them, only how they'd go getting a ticket.

So they can't buy a three game membership for the club but can afford to buy a finals ticket and can make the trip in to see the final but can't get to a game or two during the year? Ok.
