AFL cuts fans some slack with freeze on finals ticket pricesHerald-Sun
August 26, 2016FOOTBALL finals tickets will cost fans no more than last season as the AFL freezes prices for a second consecutive year.
A week after landing a new $2.5 billion TV rights deal, the league will on Wednesday unveil its finals tickets plans with AFL senior executive Travis Auld admitting the broadcast agreement had “made it easier for us to reward fans”.
Four Victorian teams are in the eight — Hawthorn, Richmond, Western Bulldogs and North Melbourne — and Geelong could yet join them for September and October.
For weeks one and two at the MCG, a bottom-level adult seat will be $40 with the top-class set at $85. A children’s ticket — under 15 — will range from $12 to $26.
A base seat at one of the two preliminary finals will cost $68 while the top category is $170.
Seats at the October 3 Grand Final will range from $180 to $399.
Grand Final concession seats range from $153 to $339. There are no children’s tickets.
