Tom Browne on Talking Footy said if the Suns continue to lose (as well as cost the AFL $20m in distributions), then there will be a player exodus from Metricon. He mentioned Prestia and Matera.

Prestia linked to us, Melbourne and Hawthorn.

Throw the kitchen sink at tom lynch ... Almost good enough to turn this club around with a couple more additions ...

Sam day too ...

Lynch off the table

He re-signed a few weeks ago, long term deal

We are still allowed to bid draft picks are we not?

There is no "off the table" need to do something outside the box not get back on course

If not lynch: hogan McCartin. Cameron

If we are going to think small must get Patton / Jenkins

Deledio. Jack.  Lennon / c Ellis
Cotchin patton/Jenkins  Edwards/ rioli

He has a contract the only way he can traded is if he agrees.

Seeing he agreed to terms only a month ago i doubt very much he is going to ask for a trade

Even if it's a 1% chance it's worth looking into. Probably wants to live in melbourne. Gc are a shambles.  Looks peeed off.

Lynch. Hogan. Cameron. If you throw enough bait might cash a fish.

More realist like would be going way overs for Patton and it Jenkins ...

The fans need some hope a 2nd 'A grade' key forward would add a lot. More so if you get some value out of McBean / Tyrone / Griffiths on the trade table.

Given the list dynamics an the strength of gws , other clubs that have started rebuilding. I think the ten year full rebuild is not going to work ... Need to top up high end talent give the new coach a proper chance

Will trade McBean to Carlton for Liam Jones and give Jack Anthony another shot at AFL. :shh

Herald-Sun saying we're interested in Brandon Matera.

OVERLOOKED Gold Coast forward Brandon Matera is being hunted by Victorian clubs desperate for clever small forwards.

Matera kicked 18 goals in 19 games last year after being suspended for a week for breaking a no-alcohol agreement by the players.

After being dropped early this year he fought back to reclaim his place but is again out of the team.

Clubs including Carlton, Essendon and Richmond are seen to be scouting for mid-sized forwards at season’s end.

Report on AFL Tonight said Lewis Taylor's not happy at Brisbane and contract talks have stalled.....also said Leppa dropped him for not tackling enough, so he'd be a walk up start at Richmond.... :gotigers

Hutchy and Barrett on Footy Classified tonight said Prestia, O'Meara and David Swallow want out of Gold Coast.

Hutchy said Prestia "is definitely gone" and that rivals clubs have been putting offers to both Prestia and O'Meara for the past 12 months. While Barrett said Swallow looks to have lost some faith in the Suns' medicos and visited North's physio.

Rival clubs are circling Melbourne free agent Neville Jetta as he hits career-best form as a small defender.

GIANT STEAL?

RIVAL clubs continue to monitor versatile GWS Giants big man Adam Tomlinson despite his limited opportunities at senior level this season.

Tomlinson has played just two senior games in 2016, with the Giants preferring fellow talls Rory Lobb and Jon Patton in the forward line.

However, the 22-year-old has been in dominant form at NEAFL level and gathered an incredible 44 disposals and 13 marks against the Suns reserves last weekend.

Tomlinson, 193cm, is a genuine utility and in eight league games last year he spent 50 per cent of time in defence, 30 per cent in attack and 20 per cent in the midfield.

The Victorian is contracted until the end of 2017, but is likely to seek a trade should he fail break into the Giants team in the second half of the year.

It was reported that the Giants rejected an offer from Carlton for pick No. 11 in last year’s trade period, however the club’s position may be different 12 months on.

Lobb has been a revelation in the forward line and while Jon Patton’s form has been modest, the former No. 1 pick is building continuity.

Further to this, the Giants a number of key position players coming through their academy that will be available in November’s national draft.

Tomlinson could be off loaded to find list space, and points, to secure academy prospects Harrison McReadie (196cm), Zac Sproule (197cm) and Max Lynch (200cm).

The Oakleigh Chargers product has played 45 AFL games since he was drafted with pick No. 9 in the 2011 national draft.

Yep, Im hoping his name is at the top on our trade time hit list.
Reckon he is the big body mid that we have been trying to get with the moneyball approach.
Thought he looked good in his champ  games at u18 level and has looked good at times when playing in the middle for GWS.
Make no mistake, this kid is very good.
The possibility of physical and mental collapse is now very real. No sympathy for the Devil, keep that in mind. Buy the ticket, take the ride.

Not sure if we could land Hurley AND Prestia.

Think we could get Prestia AND Tomlinson.

Would prefer the latter over just Hurley.

We could get all three and a couple more if we really tried - don't forget the cap will increase after next year, you can back end contracts, trade out players & clear out dead wood,  let Vickery walk and whilst Tomlinson & Prestia will cost players and/or picks, Hurley won't....and with the bidding system we could probably do all that and trade back into the early rounds of the draft as well...just need to be smart &  bold...
