General Manager of Football    Dan Richardson

Football operations manager and general manager of football are basically the same things

Not at Richmond,  GM of Footy is the equivalent of a Director of Footy at other clubs (source B Gale at a function)

We don't have a footy ops manager, Richardson covers that role, again as per Gale

Football Department

General Manager of Football Dan Richardson -  SACK
General Manager of Player Personnel & List Management Blair "BJ" Hartley - SACK
Head of Coaching & Football Performance Tim Livingstone - SACK

Wonder if we could organise it so Balme would take over Livingstone's job.
Would be a much closer fit to what we want by that job description.
I understand people want to sack Dan but I think his job should be what he's used to - contracts and organisational.
Balme's should be what he's best at and what he's used to - Coaching and performance.
Obviously Balme would have a lot more power and independence (reporting direct to the board) given to him than the current job while Dan's role would be diluted.
It would be similar to the COO and CFO roles.
COO - Chief Operating Officer
CFO - Chief Financial Officer

Livingstone was promoted from Player Development to his current role and you would have to say he's failing badly by that job title.

Why isn't C Ellis a gun player by now or at least a regular. We know he can kick well.

C Ellis  :huh3

2nd year in the system? Been injured the 2nd half of this season and missed a number of games. So he wasn't exactly available

Extremely harsh singling this kid  :-\

I want to like this kid but let's be honest, he is as weak as pis5.. We are littered with guys that refuse and simply cannot tackle properly.
He has a lot of work to do IMO.
It's ok to be a good kick but if he ends up another Houli we are stuffed!!
WE NEED TO DRAFT COMPETITIVE BEASTS. NOT SHY SOFT BOYS.

The Melbourne footy club realised they had to do this about 4 years ago and have recruited really well in this department with some real tough completative kids coming through.
IMO they will make the finals next year.

Like Morris and Hunt hey
Hunt isnt any of those things I think we should be after.
And as much as Morris has limitations, I'd play him before Houli, Grigg or Hunt everyday of the week.
And to be totally honest I'd get rid of the lot of them today if possible.

Other than Maric, Chaplin and McKenzie all retired who else do we think will be delisted?

All the duds I'd hoped for have contracts. Houli, Grigg, Hunt, Hampson

I'd say Soldo and Marcon should go. Both not AFL standard and never will be IMO.

And maybe Townsend and Moore.

Townsend still has a year to run on his contract....Moore should be the first gone but given he was getting games at the end of the season (not to mention the idiotic extensions we've been handing out recently), I have bad feeling we'll be stupid enough to re-sign him...

I'd prefer Balme to take over Richardson's job

Richardson to take over from Hartley; more his area

Maric hasn't retired unless I've missed something

Been no announcement

Correct Townsend was signed for 2 year

But if it isn't a big contract $$ wise you could delist him and use it on a kid

Everyone does nothing but talk the kids up.
Two or three  things jump out and hit ya that are not great about this kid but i will leave it for someone else to cop the abuse that will come for mentioning them.

All i will say is there is no guarantee he will become a top line player,  i wont go as far to say he wont make it,  that call will have to wait   a couple of years and we see what he can produce.  in a few years we will know for sure if hes good enough or not.

Ok I'll bite.
To me he looked slow and didn't get possessions when he first arrived. But looking at his stats this year he has increased his possession count until his injury. Speed can also be illusory and might have been due to inexperience. Sayin all that he hasn't stood out like Martin Cotch or rioli did in their first years or year in rioli s case.

Young Soldo signed a 3 year rookie contract so will be at the club next year.

Yer Maric will get a 5 year deal.
We went down the Hampson path for a reason and it's not because he is a decent player- it's because Maric has a fork in him, he is done.

Leppa had a contract too.
I'd make a call to Balwyn and see if they have room for him to develop there.

Only at Richmond all the assistant's get sacked and the senior coach stays laughable when he is the main man  :banghead.

Only at Richmond do coaches get sacked one day and have 1 year deals on the table the next day.

Unaccountable loser.

SHuffling the cards for another bad deal.

Like all the other duds-He Chose them!!

Further proof, not that we needed any, of the incompetence due to basic cluelessness
at a professional level.
Caracella and Balmey.
