The Merkin wants the ex missus to serenade Dusty as he signs in front of the media throng.

I was told today, Dusty has wanted to make the announcement but Carr  has disallowed it.
Martin apparently made hwis displeasure clear to Carr by way of an employment ultimatum.

Source -Port MELBOURNE.

He wants it announced on the eve of the finals  in that rubbish celebration of football week

and Carr is saying no.

No i meant Carr does, Dusty wants it over and done with now

It's called saving face. And he isn't even Asian
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Barrett on the Footy Show:

Contract talks have now moved to discussing Dusty's post-footy time and setting him up post-retirement. Richmond has sold hard to Dusty about the marketability of being a one club player and Dusty has bought into it. Involves a 3rd party deal around working with other Richmond players in programs at schools and with schoolkids. It's all above board. We've now reached a point where a 6-7 year deal is poised to be signed in the coming weeks.

Funny reading the North boards during this whole contract saga.

First it was .....do not want . Dusty is a spud of the highest order who cant perform in finals . Would prefer Fyfe .

Then after round 1 , when Dusty started the season on fire - they changed their tune pretty quick.

Then there was an assumption that the deal was as good as done . They were calling him their Dusty .

There's going to be a lot of disappointed folk over there .

After he re-signs they will be saying how he's overrated and they never wanted him anyway.

Wonder if their fans will be making Go Dusty signs next year?

They'll be happy they made us pay "overs". Even though it was less than they offered Dusty  ;)

You know north fans are complete biatches to the rest of the comp when they make signs pleading for other clubs gun players.

Submissive and Weak. Its embarrassing.

If Dusty wants 7 years.

No problem.

7 years $8 million.

Would offer that in a heartbeat.

Yeah I think that is good for both parties
One club champion for 1.14 a season is good for him and probably not overs from the clubs point of view but honestly who knows what the actually figure will be.

Which doesn't make them that different to a lot of Tigers' supporters

Ralph Carr's latest to Ch 7 news:

'No decision has been made. To reiterate, no decision will be made until the end of the season. Dustin hasn't indicated if that's the end of the H/A season or after the finals.'

Starting to get me concerned again. If, after 2 weeks straight of the reports more-or-less being "he's going to stay", why hold back the decision?

Methinks this tale has one or two more twists left in it....
