Quote from: Sttew
Even Martin's 2020 when he won the NS was unspectacular - hardly GOAT material - 15th in the AFLCA, not in the top 5 of the MVP, equal 4th in the Brownlow with Dangerfield, but 16 votes behind the winner, didn't even win Richmond's B&F. And yet because he was BOG in the GF somehow we're expected to accept that made him No.1 in the competition in 2020?? Isaac Smith probably isn't top 50 in the competition but he won the NS
Quote from: Corn Cobbers
He's played well in 3 finals series and badly in 5, that's less than 50%, nothing elite about that.
Quote from: Fadge
Yeah, but there were 'reasons' for Martin's bad performances....

Too young, too old, lack of fitness, personal issues.

We need to completely disregard any sub-par performances and only consider a small subset of a small subset of games (only finals and only when he is fully fit and in the prime age range, and also discount any Qualifying Finals they lost because they're nothing more than glorified home and away games) when assessing him.
Quote from: Corn Cobber
And he did nothing in the 2018 prelim when you blew your once in a millennium chance to get four flags in a row which only the greatest clubs have done

Dusty is a downhill-skier in finals
Quote from: Trav 20
Let's use Ablett Snr as an example. Look at his highlights compared to Martin. Ablett could jump on shoulders, kick longer, he was faster, he hit harder, he could kick more freakish goals, he was just generally more uncanny. People would go to games just to see what he'd do that day. Martin doesn't have that ability. No opposition supporter turns up to a Richmond game because of some freakish show Martin might put on. There's literally nothing Martin could do that Ablett Snr wouldn't do better.

BUT because of 3 games Martin is the best player of all time ? And he wasn't particularly dominant in most of them !!! He just played well.

The blokes nowhere near any conversation for best ever.

A reminder to Richmond supporters where they were in 2011 with a home fixture against Carlton at the Punt Road end of the MCG. Empty seats + getting smashed every game.

Never forget who you once were while we propped you up.

No surprise you fill level 1 punt road end for a Collingwood home game.

I loved 'Rational Carlton Fan' being utterly irrational!  I'll bet he gets over it on or around about time for Round 1 ...   *flog ...      :lol

Taranto for market value? 5.25 mil over 7 years. 😂 timmy along with hopper literally being pushed out because giants need to clear the books.
I can’t recall a single game timmy has torn up and won. Good above average footballer. Not worth the coin. Rankine done more already.

Trenty. I truly want nothing more in this world to see him out cold in game 299. Im talking eyes rolling back of head kind of out cold. Buddy almost got him last year, but somebody needs to finish the job this year. The biggest sniper in the game.

Man, imagine wishing for someone to get KO'd for your own satisfaction. With what we know about CTE now that's pretty disgusting.

Sounds like a faux tough guy to me.

Yeah, smashing up on powerhouses GWS and Adelaide at home, then winning the 15min quarter covid season. Remarkable feats 🙄
Quote from: Anne Wyllie
Give me a break he got Lynch after winning a GF with no trade bans unlike swans with Buddy and now he’s taking GWS players. Of course though the Vic clubs can have everything along with hardly any travelling.

Hawthorn lost buddy to our nearest rival at the time. Then beat them. And we got hurt by the drafts too.
