Richmond has a great top 6 but levels off pretty quick after that. Its their radical gamestyle that has won the flags not the quality of the list. Other clubs cant handle their gameplan

Gee there's some average players in this list, in fact most of the list haha

Not this nonsense again...

That's why the win against Port in round 4 was so special.

Never have fans suffered an era when the afl's most dominant team of the time been as insufferable as the present. I long for the days when Hawthorn were winning premiership after premiership.

Does on a “good day” mean at the MCG?

WC thrashed the Tigers at Optus in 2018. The Tigers were losing most away games in 2017-2018, off memory it was 5-6 away losses in a row. Even in 2019 they only won 55% of away games and two of them were against fellow MCG tenants.

Quote from: Neil from Warrandyte
“Even in 2019 they only won 55% of their away games and 2 of them were against fellow MCG tenants”
Actually they ‘only’ won 67% of their away games in 2019.
West Coast on the other hand won 58% of their away games including 1 against a fellow Optus Oval tenant.
Do you just make this stuff up??

Quote from: Jack A
Maths obviously isn’t a strength amongst Tiger fans.

Fortunately B Gale knows basic arithmetic and how lucky he is to have friends in high places that look after his boys.

Tigers won 55% of away games in the H&A 2019.

Tigers won a measly 20% of games on the road (interstate) against weak opposition bar one (Giants).

Total Away Games = 11
Total Away Win/Loss = 6/5 (55%)

Interstate Games = 5
Interstate Win/Loss = 1/4 (20%)

MCG “Away/Home” Games = 3
MCG “Away/Home” Wins = 3 (100%) – no surprise there – Tigers live the MCG and the VFL/AFL and awoke fans know it.

Marvel “Away” Games = 3
Marvel “Away” Win/Loss = 1/2 (33%) – just down the road and against weak opposition.

Tigers @ Marvel beat the Saints and lost to North and Dogs – 1 x Finalist (8th).

Tigers @ MCG beat the Blues, Demons and Pies (Blues and Dees lol) – 1 x Finalist.

Tigers interstate beat the “SUNS” and LOST to Freo, Crows, Port and Giants – 1 x Finalist.

Out of 11 away games the Tigers only played 2 against Top 4 teams (WC played 4) and Tigers won 1 (MCG) and lost 1 (50%) and they only played away against 3 x Top 8 teams in total for 1 win (33%).

Tigers have a terrible away record – gifted fixture and tainted flags if ever there was – but you won’t hear that on the nightly news!

R1 – Blues – MCG – won
R3 – Giants – lost
R4 – Port – lost
R7 – Dogs – Marvel – lost
R8 – Freo – won
R11 – North – Marvel – lost
R13 – Crows – lost
R15 – Saints – Marvel – won
R16 – Suns – won
R19 – Pies – MCG – won
R20 – Dees – MCG – won

Now let’s look at the Eagles away record…

Total Away Games = 11
Total Away Win/Loss = 6/5 (55%) – same as Tigers but much tougher away opponents and venues.

Interstate Games = 10
Interstate Win/Loss = 6/4 (40%) – Tigers (20%).

West Coast @ MCG beat the Pies and Hawks and lost to Tigers by 6 points.

That’s 2 x Top 4 sides with a 50% strike rate (away) and only went down to the “premiers” by one goal on their home deck.

Out of 11 away games West Coast played 4 against Top 4 teams (Tigers 2) and won 1 (25%).

Clearly, West Coast had the tougher draw and yet they still creamed the Tigers in true away win/loss when you factor in quality of opposition and venue.

R1 – Lions (Gabba) – lost
R3 – Pies (MCG) – won
R6 – Cats (GMBHA) – lost
R8 – Saints – won
R10 – Crows – won
R12 – Sydney – lost
R15 – Hawks – won
R16 – Freo – won
R18 – Demons – won
R20 – Blues – won
R22 – Tigers – lost

Now that I’ve had time to reflect – Longmire has been a better coach than Dimma this decade.

Clarko, Simmo, Horse, Dimma in that order.

Quote from: RichieTiger
When you accuse others of not being strong in maths, you want to pretty sure you have your figures right. Richmond beat Port and Freo interstate. That makes it 60%. Add in finals and it is 4 out if 6 games or 67%. Did any other club do better?
Perhaps you should have had some sleep instead of posting garbage in the middle of the night.

Quote from: Jack A
I’d have Simmo ahead of Dimma. 2 x GF’s against the lower ranked team with the game played on their opponents home ground for one win.

Clarko is clearly in front even with his home ground advantage as he made 4 x GF’s.

Quote from: Jack A
Read my latest post (if it passed moderation) above. The numbers speak for themselves.

Tigers have been given a gifted fixture.

Interstate clubs like WC generally have it much harder. WC finished 5th last year and almost all pundits acknowledge that WC has the toughest 2020 fixture – no surprise there!

What did he say after it was pointed out that we beat both port and freo?

Like I said on another thread a while back iv always hated other vic teams over interstate teams due to having to listen to their crap first hand. But with social media and websites such as theroar you really come to realise how the interstate fans love to play the victim card and bring up “vic bias” when discussing literally any topic.

He didn't reply.

While they ignore the advantage their team gets playing 10 real home games against travelling sides compared to say our 3 which gives them an easier chance to finish higher on the ladder ::).

"Kick a Vic" has always been a SA & WA past time since the old state games before the AFL era. It must though be a modern shock to their system that a club that they've all been use to being crap since the comp. went national is now the biggest club in the land and dominating on-field. Us being a juggernaut with our ability to fill the 'G with 95k Tiger supporters and our incredible record at the 'G must feel like playing a state side when they play us.

This is a really good point MT. We got nearly 60k vs Eages and 70+ vs Lions so the fortress is at least as intimidating as those grounds in SA and WA
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Yep. We average home crowds of 60k which is virtually double than what more than half of the competition gets to their home crowds. No wonder they fear us and are jealous of us.

The start of draft night is always good when you're reigning premiers. It's the first official AFL meeting since the GF so Gill will congratulate us. Is Chris Scott in the room?  ;D

Probably not because it’s an away game 🤪

Seeing it's going over 2 days and he will probably need to fill up time tonight so they can drag it out for 6 hours for Fox Footy, he may mention it tonight  :eyebrow
