Had an argument with a mate over New Years, my position was that if the Tigers can win from 13th so can we ... My logic was if both lists were combined more Pies would make it than Tigers. Turns out I’m wrong, my team has 12 Tigers and 10 Pies, but we have better depth, leaving out Degoey, Varcoe, Crisp, WHE..they only miss Prestia.

Crows and Cats fans are still so bitter they take joy in us losing a meaningless AFLX game .

a "zooper" from 60 to win the game against richmond in the dying seconds. Doesn't get better then that.(unless it happened in real football that is)

Just went back through recent history to see all the times Geelong has hosted a home final at the MCG. To keep it fair I excluded GFs

2011 QF2 defeated Hawthorn
2014 SF2 lost to North
2016 QF2 defeated Hawthorn
2017 QF2 lost to Richmond

It seems oppo supporters are only recalling one of these. Didn’t hear the handbaggers complain when they were beating Hawks there as home games.

I don't rate Richmond. I only see a North loss on the cards if we take our foot off the pedal and focus on round 1. Ricmond will struggle to make the 8 this year.
 

Yeah, fair farks to the Tigs in that they won a flag, but what won it for them was not some ground breaking small forward line.

Wot wun it was having a brilliant run with injuries, having their top two midfield talents in Cotchins and Martins (both top 3 draft picks) have simultaneous career-best seasons and hitting peak form at exactly the right time ie in September.

and the AFL closing their eyes when it came to the prelim head non contact rule allowing clubs popular sons to line up on the big stage.

And three home finals sort of helped, too.

Imagine if one of our 2015 or 2016 Preliminary Finals was played at the MCG or Etihad.

If only our 2016 PF had been at Etihad or the G.

You have to wonder what would have happened if the Cats had the home final they deserved after finishing above the Tuggers. Richmond out in the Semi after failing to win a final again? Most likely I reckon.
