Got mine at 9.02 or 3, just luck I presume. Best available then put me on the top level Olympic, but near the front. From past experience though best available is a bit of a lottery.

Clarkson said the Tigers' defenders were key to the side's game plan, ... as he seeks a strategy that can end Richmond's 21-game winning streak at the MCG.

Anyone else having a disaster on the ticketek website?

Took me an hour to get through passed the queue screen and then I can't even get 1 ticket in any category at the moment.

Took me 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Was in the queue on 3 devices. Laptop (website), Ipad (app then to website) and IPhone (app then to website).

Got to select where to sit. Selected BEST AVAILABLE, multiple times through all 3.

Then that HORRIBLE RED "Can't process your request ..." over and over ...

Then got the 3 tickets ... it is luck TO BE HONEST and I feel like I was going to miss out!

HOPE those ho missed out get one BUT RICHMOND have just sent an e-mail saying there have been ISSUES and ...

PLENTY OF TICKETS STILL REMAIN!

Thanks Torch,

I might start giving it a crack again. But they said the ticketek website will be down for a while....

Edit:

AFL just tweeted this:

This stuff up with the ticket system seems to happen every year yet nothing is ever done about it.

Game definitely sold out

The incompetent Ticketek strikes again

From the AFL website:

TICKETS for week one finals at the MCG and SCG are set to go back on sale for members of competing clubs at staggered times beginning Tuesday afternoon.

Earlier on Tuesday ticket agency Ticketek, which only recently signed a new deal with the MCG and also manages ticket sales at the SCG, was forced to shut down sales after major technical issues.

Public ticket sales will now be delayed.

New timings are expected to released soon.

Optus Stadium in Perth has a different ticketing deal, with Ticketmaster, and tickets for the West Coast-Collingwood game only went on sale at 9am AWST.

Tickets for members of competing clubs originally went on sale at 9am for the three East Coast week-one finals.

Both Richmond and Hawthorn have confirmed members are experiencing problems trying to purchase tickets for Thursday week’s qualifying final.

The Hawks tweeted to confirm the game is not sold out.

We are awaiting a further update from the AFL and Ticketek.

Apparently the website carked it:

Along with all the other records we have created we can now say that the Richmond supporters officially killed the ticketing system.

We understand your frustration and thank you for your patience. We are working with Ticketek, the MCC and SCG on a revised on-sale schedule and will communicate this to all members and fans as soon as possible.

SEN still (2:30pm) saying the AFL is trying to work out the ticketing issues and haven't yet announced when they go on sale again:

What if I purchased tickets this morning?

They are still valid.

Will I miss out now as a club member?

The club member allocation will be held and not released to the general public until after the new club member onsale.

Why are all games on sale at once?

The new times to be communicated shortly will ensure the SCG final and two MCG finals will be released at different times.

Shambolic and that's being kind

this happens every year and ticketek does nothing but say be patient

MCG can share some blame too - they've just renewed their deal with Ticketek.. They actually boasted about it a few weeks back
