What about the DeGoey straight arm hold of the jump 10 metres out from goal early in the last I think it was. The umpire was in the perfect position to see both guys holding. In a big final where goals are hard to come by, that is just too soft imo.
That type of contest happens 10 times a game with a play on called most times.
That was Chamberlain.

As my mate said last night; anyone with a nickname like ‘Razor Ray’ has a publicist.

That bloke is all about himself. Suppose his method is sound as he can’t umpire for poo and he gets semi finals.

The Dees having a mare so far like we did in the first half last night. The game should be over already but the Eagles haven't totally finished them off on the scoreboard. 4.8 to 0.3 at quarter time. West Coast should be 8-9 goals up.

Sadly, if the Eagles make it then it's the Pies flag to lose at the 'G. It's harsh but we really blew a flag last night  :banghead.

what a night to have our worst game of the year.

But I still contribute that to how good Collingwood was that made us that bad. Great coaching and perfect execution.

stuff Melbourne, good to see them come crashing back to earth.

I agree, they were slick, wanted it more and had no expectations on the game. Totally out coached.

Pies V West Coast will be interesting imo. If last nights Pies team shows up and plays like they did then they’ll win IMO. West Coast beat them comfortably on the G in the middle of the year though.

Pies v WC  should be a pretty good game.

I can’t see pies playing that good twice. It’ll be an awesome achievement if they do.

I'd enjoy it more if it's not going to gift the Pies a flag :chuck.

Pies didn't have Cox, Treloar, Goldsack and Aish against the Eagles that day (who still had Gaff). Unlike last night, Collingwood failed to put their dominance in the first half on the scoreboard (due to inaccuracy - 6.9 to 8.1), which is key to their gameplan as they go all out to jump teams early and then control the game. The Eagles then got on top in the second half as the Pies tired. That's the only way I see Collingwood losing next week. If they don't kick straight in the first half and keep the Eagles in it again. Otherwise, the Pies will waltz the flag in :chuck.

That's why the start last night was so important last night. Instead, we didn't mentally turn up, missed the first three shots of the game and then rolled over in the first half once the Pies kicked a couple  :scream. The second half showed if we had stayed in touch on the scoreboard we could've/would've/should've ran over them (we kicked 6 of first 8 goals after half-time). However, we were too far back. Credit to Collingwood out-working, outsmarting and out-coaching us as you say but it wasn't as if we didn't know what was coming. They didn't do anything different to what they normally do. Just poor coaching, poor team selection, poor preparation and poor execution by us. We blew it!  :banghead

West coast have a lot of good talls, Collingwood won't have it so easy, plus West Coast will probably turn up to play, we were flat from the first bounce.

I hope so, Owl. I hope they bring what we've seen today and can translate it to the 'G and not a repeat of 2015 when they didn't turn up. However, the past 5 Grand Finals have seen the Vic team beat the interstate side and in most of them comprehensively. It was great to watch last year when we were the Victorian side but it'll be painful to watch next week  :P.

Can't believe I'm saying it but they really have been hard done by. Should have got a free kick right on half time.

Collingwood should win from here; which is gunna make it a LLOOOOONNG summer.

But if they choke from here on it will go a long way to making this season easier to swallow.
