I don't care about the flu and gastro and injured players, you just don't play them, stiff poo if you aren't fit, you just don't play, simple.  If we were doomed, we should of at least given a few up and comers a run at a final to taste it.  People will just walk to other clubs if they keep getting looked over while injured players can still get selected before them.
Lots of people name their swords......

Have heard
On top of dusty and astbury:
Prestia played with 4 broken/cracked ribs
Conca and Lamberts' ankles were stuffed
We had 4 players playing with the flu'
Can anyone confirm that?
Have heard this from a number of different sources in the last 24 hours including a players Gf.

Not an excuse, but it explains a lot.

it explains poor management or a load of bs

lambert not fit-butler plays

prestia not fit miles plays

dusty plays regardless

garth plays instead of astbury

Apart from Assberry, No flu, my mail was....... they had a collective shocker. Players still stunned on Sunday
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Same here. Apart from the Brownlow and comments on this forum, have essentially cut off all footy shows, radio and articles. Will be cheering on the mighty eagles on Saturday though.

It's starting like Chinese whispers now lol the conspiracy.I reckon as a whole the club had a shocker.Players didn't rock up to play wither over confident or thought it was just going to happen. The match committee picking players unfit for a final and that's something you never do.Add to that poor matchups and game day coaching was poor to.

I don't feel sick, I just feel shattered about the way we went about it.
I am also glad that I am not the only one that has felt this way about football this last week.
I have a luncheon tomorrow with a fair line up and I am considering puling the pin! I don't want to hear it!!

it just goes to show how hard it is winning a flag.

No injuries throughout the year, best team and when it counted we were found wanting or took it too easy. Not sure the real reason we lost, but i have my doubts they were switched on.

be grateful you saw one i reckon. Those who missed out may never get another chance again

I haven't sought out any footy news either. Have only heard snippets on the radio while at work but for the most part I've switched off. Don't care about the grand final at all, the missus wrote her car off last weekend so we'll be out car shopping instead. Winning it all last year makes it easier for me. It was sort of a closure.

Those avoiding the footy shows may have missed a bit.
Footy Classified last night was excellent I thought in talking about us.
Mostly just what most have been saying here.

Fair comment. I hope we have another chance in the foreseeable future.

One thing the Prelim highlighted though, we often lost momentum in our games this season for a quarter or maybe more. Do it in the finals and you’re cooked.
There is no one reason why we lost though, many factors were at play:

Playing suspect players
Two byes
The opposition played our style better
Missing early shots on goal
Getting hammered in the ruck
Tactical errors etc all played a part in our loss

We still lost less games than any other club this year, Jack Higgins is a hit, many expected a hangover and there wasn’t, we finally had the courage to drop BEllis, I will take a very small measure of solace from all that.

I take courage too but then Conca's re-insertment cancels that out.

Seriously, the guy cant kick and is lazy attacking the open contested ball.

Just waiting for the next brain snap when he belts a bloke in the back of the head again and then it might be to the 2nds permanently. better still, trade to freo pls.

the conca decision to play in the prelim was a mistake. In fact to play him ahead of bellis was a nil all draw IMO.

Both are poo but bellis at least has delivered when it counted. Both should be shoved out the state quicker than all of us come saturday 6pm
