Come off it guys. Would you downgrade a pick 13 to 17 for a fringe rookie from another club? Get serious.

If you look at the points attached to pick #13 and # 17 the difference is 187. This is equivalent to a fourth round pick 56 or 57, which seems to be the mark that is being looked at. Adelaide do not have a 4th round pick.

In addition they currently hold 8, 13, 16 so a move to 8, 16, 17 hardly adversely affects their position

Let’s not bring reasoned logic to this topic.
It's poorly placed logic.

Just look at the above AFL trade posts. Adelaide actually want to move UP in the draft order not DOWN.  :rollin
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

PICK SWAP | Gold Coast has traded pick 68 to Adelaide for its 2019 4th round pick.

Looks like the Crows just got the pick they are going to give us for Stengle (?).

With the trade period closing at 8pm on Wednesday, Adelaide is still in talks with the Tigers for small forward Stengle, who has played just two AFL games in two years.

The Crows are confident of completing a deal by the trade deadline.

“It’s still a work in progress,’’ list manager Justin Reid told The Advertiser, stressing the club’s desire to find more support - and an eventual replacement - for star veteran small goalsneak Eddie Betts, who turns 32 next month.

“We’re having good dialogue with Richmond and we’ll work through it over the next 48 hours.’’

Woodville-West Torrens product Stengle, 19, wants to return to Adelaide after failing to cement a spot in the strong Tigers line-up, which includes a host of classy small forwards led by Daniel Rioli.

Stengle — related to Betts and retired Sydney great Michael O’Loughlin — has nominated the Crows as his club of choice.

“Young Tyson has probably lacked a bit of opportunity over the last few years given the strength of Richmond’s list and their smalls,” Reid said.

“Tyson adds a bit of speed and goal sense for us and with Eddie getting a little bit older it’s great to have a South Australian who wants to come home.’’

Stengle kicked 33 goals in 19 VFL games this year.

No surprise. Again shows there's no trade value for uncontracted players this year. Effectively given away.

Draft points wise we've given away all four of Miles, Ellis, Lloyd & Stengle for effectively a third round pick at best.

Miles & Ellis = difference in third round picks next year (at most 263 points if we finish 1st & the Suns last)
Lloyd = pick 64 = 101 points.
Stengle = pick 68 = 59 points.
----------------------------------
Total: 423 points ~= pick 41 (best case scenario).

Richmond’s general manager of football Neil Balme thanked Stengle for his time at the Tigers.

"We believe Tyson has an exciting future ahead of him and offered him a new contract to stay at Richmond," Balme said.

"Whilst we are disappointed to see him leave, he has made lifelong friends at Richmond and we understand his decision to return to South Australia."

Sounds like Lynch really has pushed our cap to the limit and we're either going to be targeting state players or upgrading all our rookies with late picks and probably going with a 38/6 list next year even after that........ :shh

Agree but we didn't have much leverage - he wanted out and Adelaide actually could've just taken him for nothing... :shh

Have you guys seen the other trades that have been made over the past week? There’s been much more talented/proven players than what we’ve lost traded for peanuts.

Got the smarts, got the talent, just doesnt have the leg speed we need from small fwds. Hes a classic old school, stay at home fwd pocket which we dont play.
