The whisper: Richmond is red-hot on Dunkley and Pickett. However, if they're off the draft board by the time the Tigers pick, don't be surprised to see Northern Blues midfielder Frank Anderson's name called out. - RB

Essendon met with 27-year-old South Fremantle star Marlion Pickett in recent weeks, although Pickett’s chances of being drafted took a hit on Saturday when he re-broke his troublesome finger. Pickett has undergone surgery and is expected to be unavailable for 8-10 weeks.

Richmond have also shown interest in Pickett. The Tigers have a pick on Monday night following the mid-season retirement of Shaun Grigg. The Tigers have shown interest in Northern Blues midfielder Frank Anderson, and have been linked to [Eastern Ranges overager] Cody Hirst.

Surely they won't select Pickett if he's out for 2 months and you would think that at pick 14 passing might be a better option?

Will probably just be an announcement.... :shh

Fox Footy's draft expert has us passing but considering Grigg just retired to make room and pretty much said so himself, can't see that happening, .....reckon we'll only take one player though....won't put Rance on the LTI, someone suggested Short or Moore might be but surely we would've heard by now if their injuries were season ending... :shh :shh

Should also point out that Fox Footy's "draft expert" Matt Balmer also used to be a Richmond poster on Big Footy ("Bishop") so make of that what you will.... :shh

The Herald-Sun reckons we'll pass unless someone we're keen on falls through to our pick 13.

FULL PHANTOM DRAFT

PICK 1 - Carlton - Josh Deluca
PICK 2 - Gold Coast Suns - Kyle Dunkley
PICK 3 - Melbourne - Sam Lowson
PICK 4 - Sydney Swans - Cody Hirst
PICK 5 - North Melbourne - Lochie Dickson
PICK 6 - Western Bulldogs - Ryan Gardner
PICK 7 - Essendon - Michael Knoll
PICK 8 - St Kilda - Frank Anderson
PICK 9 - Port Adelaide - Pass
PICK 10 - Hawthorn - Mitch Riordan
PICK 11 - Fremantle - Jarvis Pina
PICK 12 - Adelaide - Pass

PICK 13 - Richmond - Pass
Two names that continue to come up in discussions about Richmond’s pick are Frank Anderson and Marlion Pickett.
But it’s understood the Tigers would be comfortable not selecting in the mid-season draft if a player didn’t catch their eye, given the success of Sydney Stack this year. Do they have a draft smoky up their sleeve?

PICK 14 - GWS - Pass
PICK 15 - Collingwood - Pass

All remaining selections by clubs are likely to be passed.

It's started.

1. Carl - Josh Deluca (Subiaco)
2. GC - Mitch Riordan (Dandy Stingrays)
3. Melb - Kyle Dunkley (Gippsland Power)
