This is the benefit of just playing him week in week out in the center in the VFL. Might take him another 12 months but the forecast is looking good.

Fantastic we can (finally) develop these kids properly

To think we may have another 2 first rounders to come in this draft if bellis leaves for GC

Future looks great indeed

If we nail them, which I'm confident we will.

I want KPP depth, with Rance and Jack getting on a bit.

Inside mids are always a good idea too.

Oddly I feel like we have rucks covered reasonably well, between Soldo, Nank, CCJ, Chol and Balta.

RCD will be a gun. First time I saw him was vs Essendon in the VFL final and I thought gee he has a go, just needs to shed his puppy fat over the summer and maybe shave his head!

Still has a way to go but arguably put the slight but lingering concerns about him to rest yesterday... :shh

RICHMOND

Riley Collier-Dawkins – Pick 20

It is a tough side to break into at Tiger Land. And despite showing plenty of positive signs in the VFL, Riley Collier-Dawkins was unable to get a crack at senior level in 2019. There is a lot to build on for the big bodied midfielder though. Collier-Dawkins was a consistent contributor in the VFL, being named in the Tigers’ best players in seven of his 20 matches. In the Grand Final win over Williamstown, he finished with 15 disposals and two vital goals.

Richmond development coach Sam Lonergan says he's excited to see what Riley Collier-Dawkins can produce in 2020 with a year in the system now under his belt.

While Lonergan has been impressed by the "fantastic mix" of second-year players on the Tigers' list, he said Collier-Dawkins had been a standout on the Gold Coast pre-season camp.

"(He's) flying at the moment, I’ve been really impressed with the way he's attacked the pre-season," Lonergan said.

"His body is in great shape. He's improved on last year, he finished the year strong and he's launched into the start of this season in really good shape."

'Dangerfield-esque': Dimma excited after Tiger cub stacks on 7kg

REIGNING premier Richmond could be bolstered by the addition of another giant inside midfield bull this season, with first-round draft pick Riley Collier-Dawkins putting on seven kilograms this summer in a bid to earn a place in the side's starting midfield.

Collier-Dawkins now weighs 94kgs and stands at 191cm, with the Tigers confident he will take further strides after a promising development season in the VFL last year.

Claimed with pick No.20 in the 2018 NAB AFL Draft, Collier-Dawkins impressed throughout 20 VFL appearances last season to average 14.3 disposals, 8.3 contested possessions, 5.1 tackles and 3.7 clearances per game.

His improvement late last year and across pre-season has caught the attention of Richmond coach Damien Hardwick, who can see similarities between the talented 20-year-old and one of the game's premier players.

"Riley has put on about 6-7kgs as a big-bodied midfielder," Hardwick told AFL.com.au.

"It's funny, Trent (Cotchin) was talking about him the other day because he can grab hold of Trent and push him out of the way. It's hard to do that.

"He's had a great pre-season. He looks like the player we thought he could be. He's still got a little bit of work to do. He was a little bit late to mature, so he is going to take some time, but he can do some things that are Paddy Dangerfield-esque.

He's very, very powerful in and out of stoppage. Those sorts of players are pretty special.

    - Damien Hardwick on Riley Collier-Dawkins

"He's going to take a little bit of time to get where we need to go, but the great thing about him is that he's improved again over the course of the off-season. It's exciting for us and for Riley himself."
