Rumours out of Hawthorn is they are willing swap their pick 30 for our future 2nd rounder.

The reason below is why they want our future pick.

HAWTHORN is looking to bolster its draft hand by trying to attain another first-round pick – but there's a snag.

AFL.com.au understands the Hawks are prepared to trade their future first-round pick for 2020 in a deal to land a second first-round pick for this year.

The club already holds pick 11 – which is its earliest selection at the draft since 2006 – but is believed to be on the lookout to double-up at the top end.

However, it faces a battle to land the selection because, under AFL rules, to trade out a future first-round selection it must retain its other picks in that draft. 

The Hawks traded their 2020 second-round selection during the exchange period, so would need to replace that to be allowed to move their future first-round pick.

The intention to find another first-round pick nonetheless signals that the Hawks don't forecast a bid on father-son Finn Maginness to come until, at the earliest, late in the first round and potentially early in the second round next week.

RICHMOND

The Tigers will have four picks inside the top 41, which is very handy for a team that has just won its second premiership in three years. This is a midfielders’ draft so expect the Tigers to add some players with pace and who use the ball well, while they might look for a nice rebound defender, given Bachar Houli is nearing the end of his career, Oleg Markov hasn’t quite come on and Connor Menadue has been delisted. I’d also look at an experienced ruckman from a state league to add ruck depth.

18. Will Day:
Geelong, Gold Coast, Richmond and Port Adelaide are all in the mix to take Day in the top 20. He has a lot of fans.

19. Trent Bianco:
Is likely to fit into the back-end of the first round or very early in the second. Geelong, Richmond and Port Adelaide all interested in Bianco.

23. Trent Rivers:
The Queensland clubs are both looking at Rivers with their picks at the start of the second round. Gold Coast and Brisbane are possible homes for the West Australian, as is Richmond, who met with him last week and could look at Rivers at pick 19.

25. Jay Rantall
Richmond has shown some interest, and pick No.19 would be the start of his draft range. Brisbane, Geelong and Sydney are all options in the 20s, too.

31. Hugo Ralphsmith
Ralphsmith is a chance to get through to the end of the second round, where Richmond could swoop. North Melbourne is also a chance with its pair of picks in the 20s.

33. Harry Schoenberg
Adelaide has been linked to Schoenberg with its pick 28, and he sits in that part of the draft. Sydney, Richmond and Geelong are others who could look at Schoenberg.

35. Brock Smith
Smith's spoken to every club throughout the year but his draft spot is unclear. He's likely to be selected somewhere after pick 35.

Richmond Pick 20:
Twomey said he liked Bianco as he is a very Richmond player but he was taken by Sheehan for Port the pick before ours.

So Twomey went for Day which he said is another very Richmond player. Won't expect him to play seniors much next year as he is slight but there's no rush as Richmond has the time to develop him. Very talented. HB who can run, reads the play well, provides that rebound and drive, but can also stop a player as he did to Taheny late in the season at local SANFL level. Footy brain/IQ is top of the charts.

I have watched the tapes on the AFL website and made my decision.  I like the look of Gould at 19.  Well built, played seniors already.  Looks like a nice kick. 
Don't like the look of Cooper Stephens based on the tape. 
Wil Day looks solid enough too so would be happy with him.

Agree on C Stephens may turn out good but there will be better players available at our pick. I liked Gould byt his weight is a problem. Needs to get down to 87-88kgs.

Surely at an AFL environment you would have to be fit and a decent weight, unless you have a work ethic issue.
