The vice-captain retiring at 30, with 2 years left on his contract, in December and when the team is the best in the comp probably hasn't gone down too well.

Time for everyone to move on now. Footy is just Footy and Alex has called time. His life and his choice. Im hoping Noah Balta can ve our next Alex Rance.

Why wouldn’t his teammates pay tribute to his career - even Adam Trololol called him the GOAT.

I thought some of Gale's words were very interesting and empty.

Feeling I get is that the club isn't happy - maybe about the timing of the retirement, the nature of it etc. He's fit, contracted, club in the premiership window etc.

Huge assumption but it wouldn't surprise me if Rance had asked for 6-12 months off during his contract and been denied so he retired.
