I've got to hand it to those fluro defenders Melbourne had!  Every time it looked like Richmond might score those fluro champions popped up to deny us!  If only we had defenders that good.  More solid than the Great Wall of China ...      :-\

Worst part of the umpiring, it's not generally the ones they pay against us, its what we dont get paid. Even the commentators tonight we're almost calling frees for us that weren't paid. Not the reason we lost, but just makes it so much more frustrating to watch.

Spot on. Two holding the ball decisions and a clear push in the back all in the second quarter were not paid. Decisions would not have changed the result but they were clear free kicks and should have been paid. Poor umpiring detrimentally impacts on the enjoyment of the game.

I rarely pot or bag the umpires

But they were pathetic last night.

No sure if people saw it but there was an instance where Pickett M, copped it over the shoulder near the boundary around the 50m arc members side. Stevic called for a ball up, the non controlling ump blew his whistle  and signalled head high contact to Stevic which was the correct call but Stevic ignored that call. Would love yo onow what the AFL has to say about that one

How can any side only give away 2 free kicks in a half :banghead

It seems like they’re not paying any high frees when the player raises their arm even when it’s clearly high at the point of contact. The Pickett free was definitely high at the point of contact.
Generally it’s a terrible umpiring because it’s a defensive mechanism and not certainly not premeditated by any players. What are players supposed to do, just stand there and submit to tackles?

And what happened to the tackler having the duty of care… if a tackle slides high it slides high!

I’m comfortable if all of those are paid against us and to us.

The worse decisions last night - Baker got one high on the wing which was obvious.

May got a soft one when Lefau took out his legs - that was a momentum killer .

I lost count of the number of 1 handed disposals.
No surprise seeing the MCC's team playing rah-rah.

A few seconds after a Melbourne player did the same action against one of our players

I wouldn’t care if they were consistent , without the bias for Richmond I  believe the media should review all games and call it out !

Watching Carlton v Geelong

Geelong throw the ball and hold the ball in consistently,

Carlton getting raped by umps

It’s a stuffing joke

As usual it's the blatant ones that we don't get that tick me off. Two different sets of rules for us and our opposition.

Kosi Pickett's two-handed push in Broad's back.
Ump #36 had an unimpeded view of it too and still didn't pay it.

7 games played.

GC: 16  RFC: 15
CAR: 24  RFC: 17
RFC: 13  PAFC: 23 (MCG)
RFC: 17  SYD: 16
RFC: 21  STK: 23
WCE: 20  RFC: 11
RFC: 12  MFC: 24

-40 Free kicks after 6 games

That should be the real uproar.

The ones we give away are fine.

What we don't get in return the issue.

More of the usual crap. Just 5 frees in a half. It's amazing how every opposition team becomes so flawless in the eyes of the umps when they play us  ::).
