It could be argued that tonight reflected the lack of versatility in the team. Nank comes back into the side and Samson has one of his worse games for the year played mainly as a high forward after looking promising in recent weeks when given the responsibility of first ruck.

He just stared at the ball in front of him while a bombers player took it. He needs a spell.

Also, yeah, horrible flailing arm inflatable tube giraffe man vibes tonight. Unwatchable.
This is not vision of himself Samson is going to like seeing on his review tape.

Nank did any better. He is an embarrassment

Should have never been taken off him the ruck position that falls on Dimma bringing in Nank because his captain as Ryan and Miller looked good.

Just play Ryan ruck that’s where he excelled and how we jagged the wins in recent weeks. The onus should be on nank who is coming back from injury and as a leader to slot himself into a different position.

Leadership is bringing out the best in others. Not self preservation and padding your own stats.

Not a bad call at all! He certainly looks better in the ruck and when he does, so do our mids.

Agree plan Ryan in the ruck. Midseason draft select his namesake from the bullants to play forward. Retire Tarrant and also select another mid.

Garry Lyon on 'On The Couch' tonight said Jack is sore and should play only once every three weeks until the end of the season and that Samson Ryan should be given the next 11 weeks playing as the No.1 forward. Even if Samson gets beaten playing on an Aliir for example it will be a huge learning experience. The last round will be about sending off Jack, Cotch & Dimma in front of 80k. Right now, it's about 2024 and beyond.

No play Bradtke &/or hopefully a KPF from the MSD for the rest of the year with Samson first ruck. :shh

He needs to go up with 2 arms in the air. I know he's worried about losing a bit of body in the contest but he should be able to make up for it with his giant testicles.

Garry Lyon also seemed to get the idea from what Port are doing.

-------------------------------------------

“Port have no (Charlie) Dixon, no (Todd) Marshall, no (Mitch) Georgiades,” Lyon said.

“So you know what you do? You put a kid like Ollie Lord in there and say: ‘Ollie … I don’t care what happens, you compete and don’t you ever get outmarked’.”

“This is the reason why Port Adelaide are the best in the comp at conceding intercept marks,” Brown added.

“The kid comes in and just competes and competes and competes. His number aren’t sexy, but they would love him because he doesn’t allow intercept marks.”

Agreed.

Forwards injured? Play a kid and tell them to step up, have a crack.

Not at Tigerland though, nope, we just get our old legends beat up and outnumbered.

He is getting moved out of the contest or blocked before he gets there. Doesn't seem to know how to beat that. Not sure I know the answer either. He was much better in the Ruck as around the ground he was given more room and not blocked. It could be the key to this guy until he gets more experienced.

Ryan needs a rest fullstop. Through I had a feeling when Nank would come back from injury he would be pushed out that number one rucking role Ryan. He snd Miller we're coming along nicely we just abandoned it.
