Robbie Tarrant, hand

"Robbie battled on through the whole game. It happened in the first couple of minutes, he cracked a knuckle in his hand and he's had to have some minor surgery to put a plate in that to reinforce it. He's a chance to play this week because we do have a longer week given the nine-day break. We'll make an assessment later in the week as to his availability, but it's looking more positive by the day and Robbie's pretty tough."

Robbie Tarrant ‘likely’ starter week after hand surgery: Hardwick

Key defender Robbie Tarrant is a chance to front against the Cats despite a hand injury suffered in last Thursday's win over the Blues.

"He's a tough bugger," Hardwick said of Tarrant.

"He did that injury in the first three to four minutes and got an injection, had a plate inserted on the Friday or Saturday.

"He is looking likely at the moment."

Hardwick said a selection call on Tarrant would be left to the last possible moment.

"It's not the best thing to look at, to be fair, his hand at the moment," he said.

"But obviously with the plates in there it does make it stronger.

"He has just got to feel comfortable enough to play and if he is, we will pick him.

"He's a guy with great experience, has been around these sorts of things before, so he will have a better understanding than most about what is required to get the job done."

He is only playing on Porkins.  That's a week off in itself

He'll play.

He's also disposable/not our future. Better he plays and hurt than we risk getting Gibcus' head smashed off

Really liked his game tonight. I thought he stood tall and took some big marks. Became a Tiger tonight.

Tonight was Tarrant's best game for us. Playing on the opposition beasts is what we recruited him for.

ps. The games I saw Tarrant playing for North he would do a decent job on Hawkins. Seems to match up well on him.

Perfect match up for Tarrant.

I will also say the stand rule has hurt Tarrant. He's not quick and it's much easier to kick to lead up forwards now, which he isn't great at defending. One on one he was brilliant and positioned himself perfectly v Hawkins
