We need a KPF to replace Jack

What are people's thoughts on Sam Weideman from Melbourne?

Yes if he's cheap

Lions forward Daniel McStay looks “a certainty” to be wearing black and white in 2023, according to Ralph.

The 27-year-old has been strongly linked to Collingwood on a five-year deal worth $3 million.

If McStay walks to the Magpies via free agency on the mooted contract, the Lions will get a first-round compensation pick - at worst, an end-of-first-round pick - which will give them two inside the top 20.

If Ashcroft receives a bid at Pick 1, both of those picks would be eaten up by Brisbane matching it.

----------

Rival clubs believe Fremantle forward-ruck Rory Lobb will be playing for the Western Bulldogs next season, reports the Herald Sun’s Jon Ralph.

According to Ralph, the market expectation is that the tall-needy Bulldogs will add Lobb via trade, with the 29-year-old seeking a three-year, $1.5 million deal.

Lobb is contracted for 2023 meaning he would have to be traded.

Weidemann is a spud, if he was any good they wouldn't have gone for B.Brown

Supposed to be a tall draft coming, take the best KPF we can in the draft even trade up if possible.
Then we need to target a likely mature player from another club or out of the state leagues. This is the way to go if JR  does not retire.
We get a highly promising kid to develop and some much needed back up in case of injuries to Jack or Tom.
Imo the the fact is we are not one GENUINE kpf short but two.

A player id like to have a look at as a short term fix as long as he was cheap and his knee passes medical checks  is Josh Bruce from the dogs.
They have Naughton, Ugle-Hagen and Darcy and their goal would probably now be to get as many games as possible into the latter two over the coming seasons.
Bruce would give us a year or two to develop the kid we take and add back up even a third wheel to TL and JR.

The greater concern is that they are playing Mitch Brown ahead of Weideman …. now that’s saying something
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Matt Crouch is open to leaving Adelaide if the right suitor is forthcoming, reports AFL Media’s Cal Twomey.

https://www.sen.com.au/news/2022/07/07/midfielder-open-to-leaving-crows-for-right-suitor/

Multiple reports have suggested Bobby Hill is likely to request a move to Victoria almost 12 months after he asked to for a trade away from the Giants — despite being contracted to the club — due to family reasons. The Giants last year remained steadfast Hill was required, reportedly rejecting an offer from the Bombers that included a second-round draft pick.

I'd take Matt Crouch.

I wouldn't

Too many short dinky kicks, racks up plenty of possessions but doesn't really hurt the opposition with them

He’s a good player but will be 28 next year and would prob won’t some decent $$$ too. Much prefer other targets.

Don't mind an extractor myself.

Others I would prefer over Crouch but he'd be an upgrade on the likes of Ross. If he came on reasonable money with a chance of finals success I'd consider it. Would take a 5 year deal though which I'm not sure about.

Matt Crouch is a no for me. 3 years ago maybe but we are about to lose edwards, cotchin, lambert out of the mids and getting him wont help us win a flag.

Tiger71 from BF reckons we are interested in Darcy Fogarty at the Crows.

He also is claiming Hopper is the one most likely from the Giants. Taranto wants too much money and Green wants to remain at GWS (caveat depends on the new coach).

Dusty and Baker aren't going anywhere.
