struggling to see the benefit. To remain competitive and finish 11th?

Smells a lot like omeara/,mitchell to hawks for mine.

Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

It’s starting to look that way. But what about Geelong that seem to bring players in and have been consistently competitive.

Our second quarter showed the best of what we have but unfortunately that level of excellence can’t be sustained for more than 15 minutes.

Taranto is a pressure beast and works very hard in the guts.

The biggest disappointment for me is that he hasn’t been more damaging around goals. Although it was good to see him finally kick one hopefully the monkey is off the back and he can snag more goals in the future.

I don’t think we have found the right balance in the midfield as yet.
Nank is not helping thinks either
The club that keeps giving.

Taranto was our highest clearance winner with 5 (Hopper next best with 4) and he had 8 tackles (our highest as well). Problem was Bontempelli, Treloar and Liberatore had 28 clearances between them :help.

Taranto's game yesterday:

27 disposals (12k, 15h, 12c, 15u, 65% eff.)
3 marks
8 tackles (1 F50 tackle)
5 clearances (3 centre clearances)
2 inside 50s
308 metres gained
4 intercepts
1 free for
10 score involvements
1 goal assist
1 goal
81% time on ground

Got plenty of ball, 8 tackles, leading clearance winner.

Honestly happy with him.

I think Nank is struggling to give service to our mids and I think all the mids are still figuring out how to play together.

Interesting has been seeing Prestia's reduced output I suppose he's figuring it out too.
Long season ahead I'm not at panic stations, happy with our recruits.

He's an enormous upgrade on what we had. Ross for example. Huge area of need.

I'm ok with it still but we need to balance out with finding some good rookies like we have in the past.
Go Tigers!

Taranto ranking at Richmond FC

⚫ Disposals #1
⚫ Contested Possessions #1
⚫ Score Involvements #2
⚫ Clearances #1
⚫ Tackles #1

Plenty of big names with worse disposal but of course they get ignored. This "discussion" is a narrative #TalkingTigers

https://twitter.com/Jonesracing82/status/1645611308845334528

TT has also covered the most distance by any Tiger in every game, despite an ave 82% ToG: 14km x1, 15km x3, good hard running.  Ave DE% at 60. It's a false narrative & deliberate outrage strategy to try and stay relevant. Tiges have lost clearance in 1 game.  Really is pathetic.

Kane's latest comeback is that Taranto is 15th best player at Richmond rated by Champion Data, he then list Juddy Clark above him !! This is a witch hunt singling out a player and finding any distorted stat available to embellish his narrative. @Richmond_FC need to make a stand

Kanes headhunting of Taranto is actually quite sad to see. Does he think it’s appropriate to constantly go at one player like this ? Especially with the awareness of mental health these days? Not only that but also just the fact that it’s blown way out of proportion. Taranto has been excellent, his kicking will improve and then what will you knock him for ? He was brought into the team to get the hard balls and get out to our more polished players. There’s obviously been some disconnect but you can’t faulted his effort and his general play so far this season, he’s literally elite in most categories

Reckon the thinking is while he has the media focus on our boy tim they are leaving his boy Ollie Wines alone who has to be having just about his worst year to date.

Wines
dis      cl     tk    i50    c/p    up      clg
2023      22.5   5.2   3.0  3.0    9.5    11.7    6.0
career    25.5   5.2   4.6  4.0    12.1  13.2    3.5

Tim T
             dis       cl     tk     i50   c/p     u/p    clg
2023     29.0    6.5   7.5   4.0   11.7  17.2   4.7
career   23.6    4.0   5.4   3.6    9.5   13.5   3.9

In nearly all areas Taranto is having a career best season Wines on the other hand is behind Taranto in just about everything and is having a poor year but no comment from Mr cakehole..

Kane Cornes has shared his observations from the fourth round of the 2023 AFL season.

Taranto rating well below expectations

“My sparring partner David King told me in the pre-season that Tim Taranto would become a top-five player in the AFL.

“According to Champion Data’s player ratings, Tim Taranto is 15th. Not 15th in the AFL, 15th at Richmond!

“It’s early days, I understand that, on the surface his numbers are good, but there’s a few issues out of Richmond.”
