On top of Graham (hammy) in the AFL game, we also lost Tarrant, Biggie and Bradtke to injury in the VFL today.

TARRANT HURT

The Tigers’ defensive stocks took a further hit with Robbie Tarrant and Bigoa Nyuon both injured in the VFL, while young forward Kaelan Bradtke was also hurt, injuring his finger.

In his second game back from a hip injury, Tarrant lasted just a few minutes at Punt Road Oval before leaving the field and not returning. It was not clear on Saturday if it was a recurrence of the same issue which has delayed the start of his season or a fresh injury.

Nyuon injured his foot in the first half and did not play out the game.

The Tigers are already without Nathan Broad to suspension for another two games, youngster Josh Gibcus (hamstring) for at least another fortnight, and Jayden Short (calf).

I don't think Tarrant plays again. He will be out for a while Young is very worthy of keeping. Who does he drop? Grimes injury maybe

For the umpteenth season, we are being destroyed by injuries. Tarrant isn't a big loss IMO, but Lynch going down is huge. And I'm waiting for the Prestia news, I reckon he is shot as well. Just isn't moving well at all.

Prestia had an issue at last Tuesday's training session. Did some testing with the rehab trainers then left the track early. He trained fully on Thursday though.

'Spy' says Prestia left the main training group and after speaking to the rehab trainers and doing some testing, he then went inside  :-\. Graham, Cumberland and Campbell also spent time with the rehab group but perhaps just midweek management.

He didn't look good when he left the field in the last qtr, accompanied by the runner. Will be shocked if he lines up next week.

Remember Prestia also injured his pectoral muscle two weeks before the start of the season. While it may only have been a mild(?) strain, it would've affected his start to the season proper.

Then he shouldn't have played IMO. Get him right properly.

Injury Report: Round 5, 2023

Latest injury update from Physical Performance Manager Luke Meehan ahead of Richmond's Round 5 clash with Sydney at Adelaide Oval this Friday night.

Tom Lynch, foot (long-term)

"Unfortunately, Tom suffered a foot fracture during the second quarter on Saturday and it required surgery. He had that last night and from all reports, it went really well. We'll know more when he gets back to the Club, but it's looking like more long-term than short."

Toby Nankervis, ankle (medium-term)

"Unfortunately on Saturday, Toby suffered an ankle injury. He was pretty tough to play out the game. Today, the extent of the injury revealed that he requires surgery. We're hoping it will be more on the medium-term."

Jack Graham, hamstring (short-term)

"Jack's unfortunately hurt himself. It's more on the lighter side and we're hoping that it's a short-term injury and it will turn around pretty quickly."

Robbie Tarrant, hip (indefinite)

"Unfortunately for Robbie, he's battling away with his hip. At the moment, we're going to say this is more of an indefinite injury and we're going to take some time to assess where it's at, get him going again and hopefully we'll see him later in the year."

Bigoa Nyuon ankle, (short-term)

"He hurt himself in the VFL, there were a few injuries there. It's settled okay, it's pretty swollen and we're hoping when the swelling comes down it's more of a short-term issue."

Kaelan Bradtke, hand (short-term)

"Kaelan's had to have surgery today on his hand and is probably going to miss two to three weeks on the short-term."

Jayden Short, calf (short-term)

"He's going really well... We think that he'll probably be available next week. He'll miss this week and we'll make sure he's right for the rest of the year."

Tom Brown, wrist (medium-term)

"He had surgery last week and it went really well. We're hoping to get him involved in the next couple of weeks and we'll see him in the medium-term."

Ivan Soldo, foot (short-medium term)

"Ivan's battling a little bit of plantar fasciitis and it's starting to turn the corner. We're hoping it will be a short-term issue."

Exactly, he's finished. Sad, seems a great bloke and a good footballer too.

Don't think the pec injury is a concern now. Saturday's game was the first time this season he hasn't had it strapped

Terrible weekend for our talls.

Injured .Nank, Lynch, Tarrant, Bradkte, and Nyuon. Add Graham to the list of talls makes this the worse weekend for injured Tigers I can recall.
