Agreed WP. Irrational and irrelevant content
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Injury updates provided for Tigers stars Jacob Hopper, Tom Lynch

Richmond midfielder Jacob Hopper is reportedly in line for an imminent return from a calf injury, while spearhead forward Tom Lynch is improving from his fractured foot, yet remains a ways away from making a return to the field.

The ex-GWS player has been sidelined for the Tigers' past five contests, with his stoppage work in particular sorely missed.

However, according to 7News' Mitch Cleary, Hopper is slated for a post-bye comeback, with Richmond set for a Round 16 bout with the Brisbane Lions at The Gabba.

"He will return after the bye next week for the Tigers after missing the last five games with his calf injury," Cleary reported after Richmond's 20-point victory over St Kilda on Saturday night.

"Throw in Taranto, who's in Brownlow Medal contention, Shai Bolton, Dion Prestia, it's a pretty handy in for a side that's making a charge."

Cleary also provided an update on ailed goalkicker Tom Lynch.

"(Lynch is) still in a moon boot, so the Tigers are playing this extra cautious," Cleary said.

"There was hope that he might be able to return just after the bye, I think he's still facing at least three or four weeks on the sidelines, so watch this space on Tom Lynch, but (Richmond) will hope to get him back towards finals, if they can make it."

Early prognosis

Both Cumberland and Hopper will be tests for Richmond after the team's bye this week, while the extent of Ryan's injury is not yet known after the young tall was subbed out against St Kilda. Marlion Pickett should be available for selection post-bye, while Ivan Soldo made a long-awaited return in the VFL after a foot injury over the weekend. – Sarah Black

Louie Meehan has to go. How can players miss 25wks with a hammy and broken foot?

Umm....

Only thing I will say is that outside of the obvious ones, the others are last week's timelines. As the players are on break the Club hasn't released any updates this week

As for the serious foot and hammy ones I've given my views and what I know about those a number of times but because it doesn't suit narratives people ignore the ..er...ummm facts around the seriousness of those 2 injuries

Whatever

Does anyone know what criteria the club would use to measure the success or otherwise of this department?
Or is it simply as some say the length of players being out with injuries?

Gibcus would have to be the longest ever out for a hammy wouldn't he?

Stand to be corrected but it’s not simply a hamstring, it required surgery then got infected. I would imagine that would blow recovery time well and truly off the ball park.

Really?

Been saying this for weeks now and everyone won't acknowledge it

And the other thing I've been saying if you've want to whack S&C then go ahead for the things they should be whacked for and there's plenty to whack them for

But to whack them for the Lynch and Gibcus isn't realistic

The injury report is just a bluff report. Gibcus will probably play VFL after the bye.

Maybe it’s been the surgeon/surgery that’s the problem with these setbacks.

Infections seem to becoming more prevalent with this mob.

Just for starters, why don’t we try a surgeon that uses sterile equipment and always washes their hands properly before surgery? :rollin

Gibcus will not play this year

Lynch is 50/50
