Australia got the point they needed against Qatar to qualify for the World Cup in South Africa next year after a 0-0 draw in Doha.  :clapping

South Africa here we come.

On a side note Australia has not conceded a goal in this phase of the campaign at all and have not conceded a goal in the World Cup qualifiers since they lost 1-0 China last June. That's 622 minutes played without conceding. :thumbsup

:woohoo

A 0-0 scoreline with Qatar is nothing to boast about but the Socceroos did what they had to do in the hot and humid conditions so who cares. We are off to the World Cup again :thumbsup

Interesting to see if any of our European stars play in the remaining two dead rubbers back in Oz. You wouldn't think we'd risk it although it would be great to knock off Japan in Melbourne and finish top of the group.

0-1 down at half-time. The first goal the Socceroos have conceded in the qualifiers and from a header of all things  :P. We're getting pumped out wide down the wings and the midfield has been ordinary.  Pym's going to have to give them a rocket and make a change especially on the right wing.

No.1 in the group and won every home game. Kicked into gear in the second half and came from behind thanks to Timmy again to beat Japan. Well done Aussies  :clapping  :thumbsup.

Just saw the highlights of the Aussies 3-0 win over Ireland. If Timmy Cahill keeps scoring 2 goals every time the Socceroos will repeat getting into the final 16  :bow  :thumbsup

I saw the whole match. They were very good. Impressed with Jedinak, and Rhys Williams looks promising. Kewell made a couple of ripper passes. Carney's goal was a replica of one of his previous goals for Aust.

What a sweet strike. A bullet that dipped into the top corner. The Irish keeper had no chance  :thumbsup.

The Socceroos still haven't lost a game to Holland. First time in 26 games has Holland been held goal-less.

Australia     0
Netherlands 0
