Not sure Macca is on good money this year. Was in previous seasons but he only got a 1 year deal at the end of last season didn't he? Would be on 300k tops surely

Someone does have to replace McG on the senior list and I doubt they're going to play for free.

cayden williams or darrou would play for min wage [senior min wage]

The reality we are struggling to resign two of our best four players is shocking given the amount of list blockers on the list

We could do that as long as it's not one of their smarter players. Scotty McMahon almost passed grade 8 so avoid him

Senior minimum wage which includes match payments basically eats up $150k of your supposed $300k saving by getting rid of McGuane

And what are we supposed to pay all the other blokes coming out of contract not only this season but next? In 2014 we have S Edwards, Houli, Vickery, Maric

Base wage + match payments as well ??

Putting together contracts isn't just about those couple of blokes now but how it impacts over the next 2,3,4 years

Who said we are stuggling to sign them because of cap pressure? The media - yeah they super reliable with their info  ::)

Perhaps we haven't reached agreement with them because they want unreasonable amounts of money & we aren't going to pay overs for them. Maybe that is the reality of what's happening

Or maybe just maybe their greedy little egotistical managers are posturing and therefore trying to hold the club to ransom to not just get their client more $$$$ but so get a bigger cut as well

And my 2 cents, whether they sign or not. I can believe we are in a position like this where none of these blokes have given us finals campaign let alone an appearance and we look to struggle long term to fit everyone in. I was hoping we would have money to go and secure a couple of good mids, not proven A graders but quality young mids. :-\

Looks like we could end up losing some

Not trying to be smart, but I reckon both parties have given ground, that's how these things work.
